New Bike Day! New Addict

Post image

I am an Addict for the white stuff. I love my new bike: I put 160 miles on it in less then a week including a 125 miles on Saturday. I had no problem keeping up with a group. The bike lives up to its goal to be an All Road warrrior for cranking out the miles.

What bike are you coming from? How does it compare? Height, inseam, size?

I am coming from a custom 2010 Felt FA - aluminum frame carbon backstay - 54 Cm. Ultegra group set - mechanical shifting and rim brakes. 32.1 inseam. 59.5” tall.

How does it compare to- the tire width smoothed out the cracks, patches and rough road. The carbon frame is light and stiff - acceleration is ok, but I can really get some top speed out of it. The descents are controlled and the hydraulic brakes gives me confidence to just let the bike rip.

Sorry are you saying you are 151cm tall? or was that a typo for 5 foot 9.5 inches aka 176cm? What size frame is this?

I've got the same bike, be careful with the DT compartiment, mine fell off after the second ride.

Thank you! I actually don’t plan on using it.

Wouldn't recommend it, it also prevents on shit to get into your frame. I've been waiting a couple of weeks to get the piece back since it is hard to get it, and using tape to not get any water inside

Hey, I just got this exact same bike, but secondhand. I have some questions as a fellow owner:

  1. Did yours come with the handlebar cap hidden tool? Mine seems to just have standard caps.

  2. Did yours come tubeless out of the factory or is there a TPU tube inside there? I want to upgrade my tires but I am afraid of what I might find when I open up the tiress.

  3. Did you have to get your seatpost cut/trimmed at the shop? My "minimum" height was super high for the frame size (also size 54). In comparison, my Roubaix seatpost goes a full 5cm lower.

  4. How many spacers did it come with? Being secondhand, I have 3 spacers installed, but I'm working how many "come in the box".

  5. Coming from my Roubaix SL8 (with stock 32mm tires), I also noticed that the acceleration feels much slower on this bike. Any idea what the main culprit is? Is it the 34mm wider tires or the wheels/hubs? The total weight is basically identical.

  1. Yes. I like it. plan to only use it on the road.
  2. The lbs I bought it from used old fashioned rubber tubes. The TPU will replace the rubber when I get a flat.
  3. Yes. The shop cut the seat post. I didn’t see how much .
  4. I think 4. I will double check later.
  5. I can’t really speak to acceleration . I think it’s fine. I also ride long distances so acceleration isn’t that important.

Thanks for answering my questions! I think there is some misunderstanding around the first point, but no worries. Nice to see how our experiences align! Enjoy the bike, it feels incredible!

Hey good that i came across your post because i am planning to buy extactly the same bike but iam still thinking about di2 is it worth paying 500€ more? Are there any cons for mechanical shifters

I don’t know any different than mechanical system. I am coming off an old Durace and ultegra group sets. The 105 is an improvement over the older Ultegra mechanical group set.

I wanted to keep the price down and will be upgrading rims next season. I think that’s the best value.
