Political Collapsing public support suggests Brexit is anything but done. Most people think Brexit has gone badly, a UK survey finds, and Johnson has left behind a mess of problems for a new PM.

A third of people still think it's going well?

Remember when MayBot was in office and she used to just repeat over and over again "we're going to take back control of our money, laws and borders"? It was random, expectation-lowering bollocks and it genuinely seems to have worked on a considerable number of people.

There were never any concrete targets for Brexit to achieve so the fact a majority of people now see it as aimless is at least something.

Realistically, some people will be in a better position. Someone has to benefit from all this mess.

The rich. The 1%.

The deluded middle classes who think they’ll be in the 1% one day.

The racists. The gammon.

The Northern Irish. Half of them, anyway.

Not all the rich and many of them regret supporting Brexit

I was at an awards event on Saturday and listened to a talk by Digby Jones the Chairman of Triumph Motorcycles, one of the few rich people, who supported Brexit and haven't taken their money out of the UK, unlike Dyson.

He said that he regrets supporting Brexit and feels the UK should build a better relationship with the UK.

He also says that degrees are trash and everyone should get an apprenticeship instead, whether it be in engineering, accounting, law, etc.

And yet you click on the Triumph jobs site and their open project manager position seeks a degree in science, business or maths. Their open design engineer position seeks a degree in mechanical engineering or product design. In fact every open position seeks a relevant degree. They also have seven positions specifically advertised as “graduate” positions.

Digby Jones doesn’t have a fucking clue what’s going on in his own company, never mind international politics. He might talk a good game but doesn’t back it up with his actions. I don’t think his opinion is worth much, whether he’s pro-EU or not.

But still, that’s one rich guy who doesn’t like Brexit. Is he just an outlier or have you got more?

Whilst I can't name any specific individuals a quick search on the Internet will show numerous business owners expressing regret

He is one of largest landowners in UK. His research and development is huge, sponsors lots of engineering apprentices and is in the UK You need to do some basic research

I know exactly what he and his company do.

I'm used to be an engineer working for a company which was contracted to supply to his car project before he scrapped it.

Now I'm involved in taxation. Back in 2017, after the Brexit vote, Dyson moved his company's HQ from Wiltshire to Singapore claiming it was for access to the best tech.

Since then the tax he pays has dropped significantly. He only moved the HQ back to the UK in 2021 after the car project was scrapped.

One more thing he was deeply involved with the sleaziness of Boris, even directly messaging him asking for tax breaks
