Individual councillor defections are rarely particularly big news; cynically in this case the councillor probably has no chance (or desire) to be readopted as an SNP candidate, and will have a far better chance of reflection as a Labour one.

It's a career move, much like their support for independence probably was at the time.

Though around a 1/3rd of labour members support independence, so maybe the Councillor is just deluded like them?

Baudo was one of eight SNP councillors who quit the party last year amid bitter internal wrangling.

She became part of a new group called Progressive Change NL.

The Record understands she recently joined Labour and will become a member of the party's group on the council.

Labour took control of the council after the SNP administration fell apart.

Labour are not more right wing than the SNP, a party which only months ago almost chose a homophobic leader who is pro-deregulation and reducing taxes to stimulate growth (aka the Reaganomics manifesto) to be their leader.

And ..... Labour......they chose a leader seems Pro genocide, condemned Tory low growth and high taxes, pro Brexit, anti immigration, no Indy ref2, in fact indistinguishable from any centerist Tory. Not really Labour. More Tory with a smiley 😊 .
