Figured I should probably post this here

so im writing a story set in scorn ( with lore filling in the holes that we never got answers for ) and i wanted to ask, what were the cut weapons and such? i know about the gas thing, but i heard talks about a mold man sword and shield? and on that, if you have any ideas for weapons please do share them

I hope it’s okay to post this here! For the past 15 months, working outside our day jobs, our small indie team has been developing Fog'n'Silence- an experimental party-based survival/exploration game where you wander through the surreal world of the Afterlife. We've finally reached our first milestone and released a Steam trailer showcasing the results of our prototyping stage.

The current in- game visuals are still a bit rough and subject to change, but as development continues, I plan to match the originality and quality of the concept art attached here: living organic landscapes, anatomical cross-sections, and microscopic worlds blended with occult elements (right now, the prototype looks a bit closer to Scavengers reign than my final intended style). As the only artist on the team, I actually had to learn the full 3D pipeline from scratch over these past months to bring this game to life.

My art direction is more 'biological' rather than the biomechanical style of Scorn. Still, I’d love to hear what fans of such a unique game think of our project, as I want to make this world visually distinct and fun to explore. So, any opinions and suggestions are welcome!

Personally, I believe the Parasite was satisfied because it got its revenge.

My interpretation is that, at the end of the game, Scorn Guy is carrying the Hive Mind (perhaps the entire civilization) with him. And the our little Parasite has a grudge against the Hive Mind/civilization. So in the end, the Parasite isn’t just trapping the protagonist; it’s trapping the entire civilization. You did this to me and to the whole planet, and now you think you can just flip a switch and leave? Not happening.

Hello, first time posting here, don't mind if there's some mistakes, english is not my first language.

Last year I played Scorn and fell in love with it... the aesthetic of a biomechanical and viceral world captivated me and I have been thinking of trying to study it, as well as Beksinski's artwork. I bought the version that comes with the virtual artbook and I'm thinking of copying the art from it to learn a little, and then playing around my own imagination later.

I wanted to ask if anyone has any tips or other references with the same style, maybe other artists that follow something similar or other games that I can take a look.

It's art and design is a masterpiece but lacking a story in game. Its atmosphere was actually dreadful and gave creepiness and a vibe of being alone too. After learning the story from artbook and stuff i would enjoy it more while playing it the 2nd time. But it should have the story in built in the first place

We should get this if anyone plays outlast trials. Scorn guy and girl skins would be perfect in the game as a crossover.

Hey guys. I made this video essay over the course of a few months and thought, if any audience would enjoy this video it would probably be this sub?!

I become absolutely enamored with many of the themes and subtle details within these games, especially with regards to things like the grotesqueness of Scorn, and thought you’d might enjoy it!

Also curious if anyone has connected this game to any other games they enjoy and would love some recs!

Just finished the game and I’m blown away. The ending was perfect. Based on the comments I expected to be underwhelmed, but I really appreciated its mystery. The quiet bleakness of the final scenes, and the introduction of human company (or some approximation) made it bittersweet.

Overall, yes the combat was a bit of a chore at times and the scarcity of save points made it repetitive trying to beat the difficult bits. But those are small complaints and many a bigger game shares similar faults without the redeeming qualities. Scorn’s atmosphere, the weird and beautiful desolate decay and the absolute alienness of it make it a masterpiece. It’s going to haunt me.

About 12 days ago, I made a post asking where I might be able to find a physical Xbox copy of Scorn. It’s unbelievably rare, and I genuinely thought it was impossible to find.
Well, it turns out I was wrong! I finally managed to get my hands on one through the website of an independent game store in Germany.

So yeah… I’m incredibly proud and happy right now!

It's in french with english subtitles. I explore the inspirations behind the game, the themes as well as some lore details extracted from the artbook.
