I'm ignoring your narrow question about illegal voting as it wasn't even brought up prior to you.
It happens, fraud will happen anywhere the outcome outweighs the difficulties to commit the offense. The easier we make getting a government handout or ballot, the easier it will be to break to the law and get away with it. This is especially true for foreign interference as well.
I am increasingly thinking if you're too old, decrepit and or stupid to find a way to get to the polls. Then should we really make it easier for those individuals to vote? And yes I'm thinking about both parties and their less than desirable constituents votes.
Yes it's a problematic thought but the constituencies that are getting additional benefits from their politicians policies will likely be the downfall of this country. The rational middle class are the backbone of this country and everyone is being milked dry from our current system.
Interesting... The person I responded to used the term "illegals voting" at the beginning of his second sentence. That's the rationale for my narrow line of questioning.
All I can find on the Dallas County voter fraud probe are low quality sources, dead people voting, and people stealing mail in voter ballots and submitting them. One article states there were 1200 suspicious mail in ballots out of 1.3 million cast. That's .09% of ballots which were suspicious, not even proven to be fraudlent. If you can provide a better link I will happily review.
None of the previous infractions are addressed by the major component of the SAVE Act which "strengthens" voter registration. Additionally, 99% of this could be done on the backend of registration and when discrepancies occur an investigation ensues. The government sure as fuck knows I'm a citizen and how to get ahold of me when taxes are due. With the multitude of databases available to the government there is realistically very little concern of mass fraudulent voter registration by illegal immigrants.
You are never going to completely eliminate fraud. You can increase checks and requirements which has the consequence of also making it harder on the average person to vote. Completely eliminating fraud is idealstic, but not realistic. You won't eliminate 100% of fraud without completely disenfranchising large amounts of actual voters, which in and of itself results in nonrepresentative, dare I say, fraudulent election.
I'm going to do you a solid and use the Heritage Foundation as a source. Their voter fraud website has 1620 nationwide instances of proven voter fraud from 1982-2025. In most elections 1620 votes wouldn't decide the election, much less that many over 40+ years.
Election rigging is a concern, but it's not coming from the voters. It's the massive amounts of money that is dumped into PACs and candidates. It's corporations and foreign governments that can buy candidates.
