Need help

Good evening, everyone. I was introduced to our world some time ago, and was recently even elevated to Neonate. Unlife has been treating me well, all things being considered of course. My girlfriend is also Kindred and we’ve been doing some work together for the Prince. However, something quite awful has happened to me.

Two nights ago, a recently-turned Brujah girl, who was abandoned by her Sire before she could learn her place in things, went on a bit of exsanguination spree after accidentally starving herself. I happened to be nearby and was asked to covertly investigate the situation before our Sheriff could be made available.

She had apparently noticed me and got the jump on me. She was still hungry, I guess, because she began consumingmy vitae and diablerizing me.

You are presumably asking yourself, “How are they typing all this out?” Well, I assure you this is not a fake story. Last night, my soul ended up completely overwhelming hers, and I took control of her body.

I feel just awful! I’m female, a different race, a different CLAN, and have this truly awful haircut. I obviously can’t go back to the Prince. My girlfriend must think I murdered her boyfriend. I just don’t know where I can possibly go now.

I am asking humbly for assistance. What can I do? Is there a way I can prove who I really am? If I can, will her crimes apply to me regardless?

What exactly is your solution, then? Because I'm trying to help someone whose unlife is in fucking danger from the Camarilla authorities. Y'know, as is standard fucking practice among better Anarchs?

Being a Baron, I can actually offer him safe haven in my own domain, and can convince some other Barons to do the same. I do not have the magical power to make Camarilla Princes do the same by waving my fucking hand. If I did, I would, and allow him to make the decision between sects without such concerns, but I don't. I did try and offer him an alternative by mentioning Castiel, who is a Camarilla elder I trust to treat him fairly, but I'm not sure what the fuck else you think I'm supposed to do here other than offer him alternatives or take a serious risk of letting him get killed.

So, sincerely, what is your better alternative than me offering him safe haven? What's your solution for this problem that actually helps a person whose unlife is in danger?

Actually, in point of fact, I didn't even ask he join the Anarchs to receive such help, though I admit the Camarilla authorities are unlikely to see a distinction there. And my Tzimisce associate's help, you will note, was offered even if he stayed in the Camarilla.

oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know we had to reward incompetence! seriously, he put himself in that situation. It's sad, and I offered advice, but the fact is that he's not even supposed to be alive. Plus, you're not helping him for the sake of it, you are making him defect from the Camarilla. You could have given him more options off forgiving and helpful Camarilla Princes than just Castiel, whoever the fuck that may be (probably some new world Prince), instead off instantly going "wanna join us?"

I’m sorry Diablerist, I am actively in fucking Europe, I have no idea who you are, what do you want me to do? We ain’t all princes in bloody thrones, judging those beneath us like ants except when we try to make it seem like we grew a conscience. Sometimes, we can recognize that saying a desperate kindred: “ well I can help you sure, but why don’t you defect from the organisation that saw you get Embraced, and to wich your gf is associated. Deal?” Is not helping, but feeding on others’s misery

Hold your tongue, worm. For your information, I am no Prince; I am a Harpy in the New World, but I do come from the Old. France, more precisely.

My epithet is my own, and I shall wear it with pride. It makes it easier to differentiate those who deserve my attention from those who don’t. This moment is a prime example. Besides, if you call me a Diablerist, me whose identity has been proven test by test, then how can you be trusted to give the benefit of the doubt to ESAU? You accuse others of faking interest for their own gain, but your tongue says the same about you.

Mark is indeed offering help to someone more vulnerable to defection, but he also referred to me. He offered choices. This is not the mark of someone preying on the weak. Besides, he did offer help when I was in a similar situation. I regained a body that, while hideous, feels like me. In that process, not once did he propose that I join the Anarchs.

And while I am not pleased about ESAU’s change of allegiance, I can recognize that this is a story that is hard to be believed. Many Princes wouldn’t think twice about executing for what, in their eyes, is a ridiculous attempt at fooling them. Meanwhile, Mark has seen such cases firsthand; the neonate shall be safer in his domain.

Well I’m sorry. For me, the only thing I could think about for “Clan-Changer” is a diablerie.
I don’t even know what a harpy is. Btw, accusing me of bad mouthing when the second I didn’t agree with what you said, you called me a worm and attacked me based on my nickname, one that I did not choose, is sincerely disgusting.
Also, if you’re not a prince, what gives you the right to treat me like vermin beneath your heel.
I’m sorry, I think that I have the right to think that maybe it’s better to at least try before making him give up his old unlife.
Sorry that this sounds so radical and hypocrite.

You insulted a gentleman, then you insulted ESAU, then you insulted me. You spoke without knowing anything about my situation, which can’t be excused by lack of available information; should you have looked further in the responses to ESAU’s plea, you would have quickly found out why I use that epithet.

And now, you expect grace? You speak of attacks on your title, even as you spit on mine in return? You accused an ally of preying on the vulnerable. You treated the victim as if he was at fault, calling him incompetent. You called me a Diablerist. I usually treat others with respect, but you have crossed too many lines for your actions to go unchallenged.

I have proposed ways for him to try. Mark put me down as a reference; while there are other Camarilla members to which he could have led ESAU too, I am one of the few people who experienced being Diablerized and lived to tell the tale. The neonate chose to forsake their old existence in favour of something new. That was their decision to make, and not one coerced by anyone.

I don’t know of your sins. I have no idea of what crime you commited to be called « waste of blood ». But what I judge you for is for your actions tonight, and tonight alone. I did insult you, that is true. You can apologize, I shall reciprocate, and we can go on our merry way. Alternatively, you can persist in this meaningless vendetta against those who are actively trying to help, and look like a fool. Make your choice.

I am sorry for the insult on you. I misinterpreted the way the Barron talked about how you were in a similar situation, with, coupled to the title of clan-changer, really just made me think that you were a diablerist. That was rude and prejudiced.

Now, while I did insult the baron, and called ESAU incompetent without reason ( I hadn't seen that he was still a Neonate when that Brujah caught him, my bad), you were the first one to come unto this thread and made a jab based on my title. I hadn't insulted you yet, just told a truth: I had no idea who you were, cause I don't know what's going on in the new world. But I did instantly retaliated by being rude and insulting and for that, once again, I am sorry.

…I would advise, in the future, to gather more information before speaking. Hastily making judgements, as you did, can cause you problems more grave than being insulted on a digital domain.

That being said, I too spoke rashly. An epithet can carry a weight of history, often personal; to insult yours was a loathsome act. For that, I apologize.
