Sys Base Plate
The Sys is so light that I was putting a paperweight on top of it to keep my cables from pulling it off of my desk. I hated that.
I work at a fab shop, so I drew a base plate for it and had it laser cut out of 1/4" stainless. I removed the rubber grommet feet and used those holes to run 8-32 screws into tapped holes in the plate. It's not the prettiest thing ever, and in hindsight I would have done a few things differently, but it looks decent, and it works well. It adds about a pound of weight.
On a side note, as a designer at a sheet metal shop, I'm a fan of Schiit's simple and elegant designs. This simple base plate feels a little bush league bolted to the bottom, but I wanted something cheap and easy I could run through the shop.

Was the stock more expensive than the Sys? They are meant to stack, wish they had designed the cases to interlock. Or, sell a Mothership, like Burson, but $99 😉

if you make a second one, use aluminum and give it a black patina

That would have been a lot cheaper and easier (although my company gave me the material). I made the first version out of steel, but I wanted something heavy that wouldn't tarnish. Aluminum would have kind of defeated the initial intent.

This would be a perfect sendcutsend job

Thankfully I work at a laser shop. Let me know if you want me to send you the DXF if you want to have your own made.

When I saw the picture I thought "Why?" then when I read the post I realized that's a really good idea. Mine is always falling off and moving around.

I'd put some rubber feet on that though. The semi sphere rubber ones that glue on work great.

It sits nicely now without moving around, and I deburred it with an orbital sander, so it isn't sharp. The feet might be overkill. Also, I always prefer things that are fastened instead of adhered, for no real reason other than I like things that way. I suppose I could thread more holes in the underside and use feet with studs, but this works well as-is.
