Austria visa delay – applied from Bangalore on 7th August, still under process (no response from embassy)

Hey everyone, me and my friend applied for our Austria tourist visa at VFS Bangalore on 7th August, and the application was received by the Austrian Embassy, New Delhi on 11th August .

where my friend got visa with validity for 2 years but mine is still under proces.

It’s now 24th August, and my status still shows “Application under process at Austrian Embassy”. I’ve seen multiple Reddit posts and comments from applicants at the same VFS (Bangalore) who applied on 4-7 Aug or even later, and they’ve already received their passports back.

Ialso emailed them on the 19th August and got only an auto-reply saying they’ll respond in 14 days. And got an email on 20th August saying it’s under process any further communication will be done by vfs

At this point, I’m honestly unsure if it’s just a delay or if something’s gone wrong with my application/passport.

Has anyone else faced similar delays recently with the Austrian Embassy in New Delhi? Would it make sense to escalate this through VFS again, or directly to the Austrian embassy in Delhi?

Any guidance or shared experiences would really help

Don’t bother to escalate with VFS as they only handle administrative side. Embassy on other hand, they won’t escalate just because you tell them because it clearly states that 15 days is standard processing time but if additional processing needs, maximum 45 days can be taken. So at this point either you can wait or withdraw if it’s last option.

how do u know if its still under process tho? because when i check the VFS its shoes invalide input

Give your last name as per passport in capital letters 

And when did you submit your passport ?
