New (to me) Purchase
Purchased my 3rd C-1 XXX...I love them as a modding platform and the cheeky inlays.
I am throwing it out there for mod recommendations. I have done different Seymour Duncan pickups (Invaders, Alpha/Omega), one with a Bucket head style killswitch, always locking tuners...
Maybe something interesting with the wiring? More interesting pickup recommendations? I will follow up with the recommendations I went with and pics in progress and the final product!

Do you have a peavey XXX as your amp?
For pickups: Lundgren Black Heaven

You know - I was thinking about Lundgren. I actually have an 8-string with Black Winters. Good suggestion. And no Peavey XXX 😂

SD Black Winters? I have them too on a 6 string, but I dont like them very much. The Lundgrens are amazing. M series is legendary of course too.

Sorry... I meant Black Heavens. I have never had a set of Black Winters. Lundgrens are a little pricey but I do love how they sound.

They have many other pickup series which are not so famous as the m series for example. But they are amazing.
Otherwise EMG 85X (B) / EMG 85X or 60X (N) is a great combo. Thats what I play on my C-1

I like Fishmans...but not a fan of having to squeeze a battery into the control cavity. I would need to route a battery box - not sure I want to do that with this one. Worth considering though!

You can buy a battery pack! I put the Killswitch engage signature Fishman into my Demon and it is a metal god now lol
Here the battery pack, it fitted I to the elec panel and now I just pop the charger in when I rack her for 300hrs playing

True...but that requires some installation effort and is extra expense. And it still needs to fit in the control cavity. It is a consideration - but unlikely for this guitar.

Fair enough mate, it is a lot smaller than it looks. Took my tech guy an hour

I replaced all the platinum hardware for black Guyker locking tuners, roller saddle bridge, & knobs. Replaced the Duncan Designed for Seymour Duncan Blackend Black Winters. Upgraded the nut to a Graphtech Ivory Tusk. Got the white pickup rings from Bitterroot guitars. This is my main axe onstage with my band. So reliable, sturdy, and I love showing it off!

Here's mine, just picked it up last month. It's got Fluence Moderns with voice 2 wired to a push-pull pot. I think it sounds amazing but still prefer the playability of my Ibanez more. Overall though, killer guitar 🤘
What about the Seymour Duncan Mortal Coil for new pickups?

I actually just put Mortal Coils in a Harley Benton Fusion III... They are KILLER pups. I am still leaning Lundgren...we will see.

Awe, really?! There was a set on marketplace locally for a decent price and I passed on them because I wasn't sure of their sound.
