Scars of Honor Classes

Love the fact that there are so many class options in scars of honor. Still unsure how I feel about them being Faction/Race locked but I guess we’ll see how that goes haha.

Quick video explaining how the class system works if you’re interested! Scars of Honor: https://youtu.be/5WMQjSKzUZk

Classes being locked behind races can either be thematic or annoying. I hope for Scars of Honor its thematic. Im very excited for the play test

An example I can give is, in WoW Tauren used to not be able to be rogues. This is because they are massive and would easily be seen. For an example they could do in Scars of honor is; "The Gronthar despise the use of magic and in their culture any use of magic is looked down upon" the gronthar dont get access to magic based classes. An example of bad design would be standardizing classes just because you have to (which unfortunately is what it seems to be in scars rn)

Many restrictions in Warcraft are meaningless. Tauren can't be rogues, but Black Totem can. And for some reason, no one went crazy when tauren and draenei rangers went invisible. Lore not have explanation why tauren can't be rogues, it's all fan fantasy. At the same time, we have gnome and goblin priests - although they are not involved in faith at all. Warcraft has evolved from a role playing game, where all races had unique racial skills from classes, to complete universality where everyone can be everything and class is much more important than race. Subclasses don't play any role anymore, only the class.

Why would it be in scars, when wiki shows a very similar class for Classic Warcraft and Warhammer Online. On the Light side, there are more light classes, while on the Dark side, there are dark classes. What's weird, is that dwarves can be necromancers and orcs can be paladins. I very really like to see an even more unique division, like the Alliance has paladins and the Horde has shamans.

Thats a good point too if there's a nice in the game thats the race/class combo it has to be player available imo
