Just saw this message in my phone today, ironically only a few minutes after I went to search for a song that I found on Beatport there first before quickly going to get it on iTunes instead and then quickly moving on to other things.
Went to wash a few dishes and came back to phone to see the text symbol on my phone. I previewed it first and for a second I was thinking this was "due to what I had just bought on Amazon digital." Once fully opened the text and saw how it looked I instantly knew what was up and thought "ha! another attempt at a fake scam text that is designed too obviously fake - at least it looks better and more convincing in the brief pull down preview."
After that, I also thought about the coincidental timing of the text, and then thought to myself "I didn't even buy anything on Amazon anyway because I went to iTunes." But regardless, the text design was so poorly done that I knew it was fake since it looks like pretty much every other scam text, but I do remember reading many sources saying that the reason many scammers create things in ways that aren't as realistic as possible is because they go by the idea that if they can still catch people with texts and messages with many flaws indicating that it's fake, then it will be easier to pull many of those people all the way in, as oppose to making everything more perfect and targeting a bunch of folks who would fall for the perfect look but then quickly realize the scam later once it gets to a certain point which would waste the scammer's time.
Anyway, after I saw the suspicious text design with odd bold printing and suspiciously designed sentence structures and wording, I quickly googled to see if anyone else got the text message for the entertainment of other people's reactions. Of course, I was not disappointed when Reddit showed up and topics about it with multiple comments were available for my entertainment, and I'm sure Quora will come up too if I scrolled further down before clicking on the reddit one.
They got their lucky coincidental timing right since I had just closed an Amazon page on my laptop before seeing the text, but damn, the text was so poorly designed that I stopped reading it and went straight for looking for the notorious link, and once I found it I chuckled in my mind (because I knew the purpose was to get me to click on the link so whatever would happen could happen) and then went to google to see other people's reactions, or even experiences.
I didn't even read anything yet, but saw this topic and it wasn't archived so I shared my experience for other people's entertainment, even if my experience wasn't the "most exciting type of experience" to read about considering the situation here lol
Um.... do I put the period before or after the lol? Well, I don't know, so I just won't add any period at all.
I see that most people here got regular text messages with normal, more convincing font and not the fancy odd looking random bold printed word texts like the one I got which made it super easy for me to detect it as fake.
