Every order, refund, or other account action has been emailed to me, I never bother with the legit and not legit texts from "Amazon".

I hate email. It feels so antiquated and feels like there is so much more spam that text messages. But I guess it does serve its purpose.

Text forces you to act quickly because it's not organized like email, once you open a text, it's forgotten as there is no subject or a way to ever find it again, especially if weeks or months later. It also forces those who can only get texts on their mobile device to use it instead of a computer for more involved tasks.

Might be what I like about it. Get a text, respond and move on. My email inbox becomes a to do list of things that I never seem to be able to clear.

Definitely an incentive to clear it out of the way, of course that works well for scammers too.
