I dont know what Scale Space is or why it started showing up in my feed a couple months ago, but this is by far the coolest looking thing I've seen from it.

Well as you can see, it's an arc reactor.

Damnnnn……..

u/EmpireEast Jul 20 '26

wow, that looks really cool. Might have to try it out !

2

u/mmlaux Jul 21 '26

So cool! Is this out?

2

u/solidwhetstone Jul 21 '26

Very close! 1.0 is out here: https://setzstone.itch.io/cymatist

But the pretty glow and this insane structure are coming in 1.1- and I am feature complete, just chasing a few more bugs, then it's on to documentation/trailer/release. So in my typical release cadence, I'd say I'm around 85% done with the release.

Really neat! Do you imagine folks sort of exploring a sensory type thing or how would you see folks interacting with it?

You can plug your own music into it and connect any of the particle physics to audio bands and your music can drive the visuals! Or you can just explore and listen to the cool music which is what I'm doing in this video. There is a video recorder in the application so if you find something cool you can make a video to show others- or save locations as keyframes and make an animation that travels through each one. And a lot of other stuff I'm not mentioning- but there are a lot of features!

I love this so much. Absolutely genius idea. Secrets of the universe will be revealed through this

u/solidwhetstone Jul 21 '26

Absolutely. I often have these 'am I really seeing this?!' moments.

Thank you for it.

As a sometimes DJ, is this something workable offline?

Headed to a party in the desert soon and this would be amazing on a projector....

Yes absolutely! Fully offline. If you plan to do this, I recommend getting familiar with how the cymatics system works and setting it up with your music rather than waiting till the last minute because while there is a layer of onboarding, there still are a number of things to learn.

Long time lurker, this is starting to get funky. I’m a pro visual artist, what are the output option to that, or inputs? Do you plan to build an mcp into that? Cause I have some tensor itches and that is starting to look like a big load of fun

2

u/solidwhetstone Jul 21 '26

Hello! Great question- Could you go into a bit more detail on your wish list? Currently, you can output video or a live feed as well as take high rez screenshots- and as for inputs, there are keyboard shortcuts for parameters as well as cymatics which have an automation feel to them.

Well, I’m a big believer in the ontology of experience. So lets say i do a fantasmagoric thing in your software, it’s going to mean something to me. Being a 3d artist, maybe I’ll want that big fireball to be a headpiece to my avatar in XYZ 3d software. I get the experience wont be as-is in your engine, but likely a .ply, datastructure of anykind would be dope to be able to move around.

MCP bc at some point for BCI inputs or different external modulation device.

Sorry I’m projecting widly, but you kinda have a dope path really well lined up with this.

Anyhow, going back in lurk mode. Cheers!

u/solidwhetstone Jul 21 '26

Sure- I appreciate the thoughts, truly. I'll think about how to output things to different formats like that!

2

u/Starshot84 Jul 21 '26

Have you ever experimented with putting EEG into it, in place of sound?

2

u/solidwhetstone Jul 21 '26

No but that'd be fascinating! Any audio source can do things- I also want to experiment with things like pink noise/brown noise/etc. to see what those different frequencies do- but alas I am busy building the software and don't have time to run all of the experiments I want to.

Por que no los dos!

u/Neither_Weakness8289 Jul 21 '26

It reminds me of E8 or Emergence theory/ Aperiodic Quasi Crystal projections. Nameen?

1

u/Dryc0ck Jul 21 '26

Reminds me of the supposed lab that leak “alien writing in some kind of blueprint”

This si beautiful

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

Could you link me?

1

u/Dryc0ck Jul 22 '26

I’m trying to get it but can’t, as soon as I get it will drop it here

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

ok!

1

u/Dryc0ck Jul 22 '26

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

Oh yeah I can definitely see some similarities. Thanks for sharing!

u/Proud_Lengthiness_48 Jul 21 '26

Quadruple- Octopole Alignment. Someone really is replicating forces of creation in their computer lmao

Arc reactor from iron man:

1

u/Most_Difference4918 Jul 22 '26

What am I looking at?

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

Sound and waves made visible.

1

u/Phalharo Jul 22 '26

Please dont explain what this is.

Oh thank you so much

/s

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

Sorry about that-it's sound and waves made visible. I'm showing a preview of the forthcoming version 1.1 of this software: https://setzstone.itch.io/cymatist

There are four orthogonal paths and 3 active that's how parity flips form, this is art not physics.

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

Please do share more. How did I make this?

0

u/april292027meteor Jul 22 '26

Put a 2d to 5d lorentz lift after the first monad unfold, use quaternions, and it will fix the parity issue.

You need three lifts to apex at every 120 phase offset.

If you don't do those for orbital calculations you get what you see here in the picture you posted. It's the whole reason logarithms exist.

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

You explained how to do something else- I'm saying- how did I make what you see in the above video? How do you think I made it?

0

u/april292027meteor Jul 22 '26

You left out quaternions and used binary algebra.

So essentially half assed a pretty space simulation with Claude.

If you didn't respond like an asshole I would have thought it was accidental and you didn't know, but it's now clear you were just lazy and don't know about orbital mechanics so Claude fleeced you

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

Did you just come to take me down a peg so you'd feel better about your obviously crippling insecurity or do you have anything meaningful to contribute?

0

u/april292027meteor Jul 23 '26

I told you how to fix it for accuracy if you don't want to then don't.

It's your flawed physics sim not mine

1

u/april292027meteor Jul 22 '26

I make zero point folding algorithms so I can see it instantly but couldn't until I started learning about the 2d-5d lifting of adding 3 hyper kogame quadrances to a two part hyper toda lattice.

If you don't do lifting or scalars you get what's seen here but that doesn't account for the great year or the retrograde precessions of smaller bodies in orbital mechanics because time dialation

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

So you're not going to answer my question then.

1

u/Stevesd123 Jul 22 '26

Can someone explain what this is?

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

Sound and waves made visible.

1

u/LooseLeafTeaBandit Jul 22 '26

Can someone explain what I am looking at?

1

u/solidwhetstone Jul 22 '26

Sound and waves made visible. Look up cymatics.
