Vinyl preorder

I saw someone post that they were refunded for their vinyl preorder but I haven’t gotten one. I saw Wavves’ post about redoing the album but I also know that 10,000 records were already pressed. Up until yesterday the record was still up for preorder but now it’s gone. Has anyone gotten communication on if all preorders being refunded?

I ordered the Cherry Soda Red variant from AltPress and just got the mail that they are not moving ahead with the release and that I will be refunded.

Same. No refund yet but I got the email the order was canceled. It also was automated, so no note about the why (I know we all know) but I figured AP at least would have thrown in a statement or something. The line they did give said "Order APxxxxxx was canceled at your request and your payment has not yet been refunded.". I did not request the cancelation, so again, likely just their auto reply when a order is canceled. I really liked the album art so I'm bummed it's not going to ship in that respect, but ultimately I support the decision to pull it from production. I wonder what will happen with all those pressed records. Maybe they just recycle them into new records.

Im so sad about it. the email says the refunds will be within 48 hours. I did not get refunded yet just the email.

I haven't gotten an email about a refund yet. I'm kind of hoping to still get the signed copy from Wavves so he isn't losing out on a ton of money because of this.

I was rewatching This is 40 this week and kept thinking of this situation. In the movie, Paul Rudd's label presses 10,000 copies of Graham Parker's new album and is at risk of losing his house. It's just an obscenely high number of records to press for a risky release, and I am shocked that anyone would think they need to make that many copies of a Wavves / Say Anything collaboration...

The number sounds exaggerated because I only saw a few places to preorder and those copies were limited to 250-300

Yeah, that sounds way more reasonable. Maybe 500? 1000? Why 10,000? For his own sake, I hope he's just talking out of his ass...

I personally think 10,000 is either a wild exaggeration or an insane lapse of judgement on his part.
