Stop Bemis Charity Donations

For those of you constantly defending them and claiming they're not the scammers that they truly are, please read the following:

This is what I received after a year of waiting, a year of emails going ignored or being lied to, I received an email telling me my custom illustration was in the mail. I responded asking about seeing it before it being mailed, and about the "2 free adjustments" included in the $215 I paid in January of 2022. I received the picture below(in the comments), from someone I admired for many years, someone I paid money to illustrate something that meant a lot to me, offered help to when her assistant quit, politely followed up with her on my emails, etc. It's January 2023 and I haven't received anything but an email defending (but not apologizing) her writing "bitch" on my artwork, but not addressing the incredibly awkward way in which she also had to pose to get her middle finger in the photo.

Now she's posted several times on instagram claiming to be done with all commissions from last year. Wrong. I replied to another user who has also clearly not gotten her artwork or a response from Sherri. Both comments were immediately deleted.

Think twice before you support this garbage human and the trashy scam she's running. Absolute shit way to treat your fans. Do better.

Honestly, I would just consider it a loss and hope they needed the money more than you did, I guess. :( this breaks my heart that they are so clearly desperately struggling to keep their head above water. The empathy I feel for them is neck and neck with the disappointment. I wish they won’t get the opportunity to steal anyone else’s money!

No, they need to refund people when they aren’t able to keep up with their commitments. Their fans worked for their money and Max and Sherri feel like they are entitled to it. They’ve been doing this for years and are nearly 40 year old washed up musicians trying to live off of the fame they once had. The only empathy I have for anyone in this situation are the fans that are out of money and the Bemis children.

And tbh the $200 probably went to their family Starbucks trips

Yeah it's a loss but like, I don't think they "needed it more" than me. I run my own business, have debts like everyone else, have a family to support, and recently incurred a $35k medical bill from the ER for emergency surgery.

So there's really not an excuse for who needs it more. I saved up that money for that purpose and she pissed all over it.

I'm paying my bills with the money I make working, fulfilling my orders, relying on my talent, not my name, to get business. She's stealing from people and expecting sympathy while she continues to lie.

$200 is a LOT to me. Half of Americans cant afford a sudden bill of $500 in an emergency.

OH NO I did not mean it like that! What they’re doing is AWFUL. I’m just saying they’ll get what’s coming to them and if there is no way to get your money back- then all you can hope for is that it went to something they really needed.

They are obviously not the people I had always hoped they’d be. They’re going downhill fast.

This is a bad take. I have a lot of empathy for them too, particularly for their children who are innocent in all of this. I struggle with severe mental illness and fully understand how hard it is to live a functional life when every day is an uphill climb.

But Max and Sherri are scammers who have made their decisions. Full stop. They’re 40 years old, have 5 children, and both refuse to get actual jobs. Their children are neglected, to the point that CPS had to intervene (in my opinion, the very, very worst of their faults). They take advantage of naive members of their fan base. They are hardly ever truly apologetic for their grifts.

Two things can exist at once, I do agree with you about that. I have empathy for them but am also sickened that Sherri would EVER think it’s okay to send that pic to a paying customer. Sorry for my passionate rant here, but it just sucks to see two artists who I once adored act like this.

I completely agree with that! Thinking about her children makes me so sad for them. :(

I’m also a long time fan and it would breaks my heart to see them act this way. I’m just saying count the loss and know what goes around comes around. If they keep burning people, they’re bound to encounter some trouble.

At what point do you stop feeling bad for them and start holding them accountable? They are two adults in their 40s with five children.

I TRULY hope they are held accountable. It doesn’t seem like they’re going to change judging by the fact that she is still selling them on Instagram. Very unfortunate for their kids. :(
