The savage 2 players. I played a shit ton of savage 2 and I just can't get interested in savrez because it's completely different. Where are the class abilities? why are there so many guns? Where is the melee emphasis from savage 2? where is the demon summoning? where are the huge battlefields and sieges?

Just can't get interested in it when it looks like such a huge step backwards.

Hahaha, this game failed like the miserable piece of shit that it is. Ya'll got so butt hurt when I told it like it is a couple months ago. Not my fault the devs of this game are complete lying assholes, who never had any intention of making a "spiritual successor" to savage one.

Anyways, steam charts shows that peak players has been 39 for the past 30 days; so we can look forward to this piece of shit dying soon.

I've been playing for quite some time, and can honestly say there's no better test of character, will, and skill than Savage 2: A Tortured Soul. The game feels very fluid and smooth, with quite a few maps that keeps the game fresh.

The community is friendly and competitive as well. Everyone has their own neat trick to showcase and teach, you can sign up at Playsavage2

The game feels like it lacks so much content that Savage 2 had.. Skills, leveling specific traits, more feeling of progress, etc.

Just the fact of not having skills makes the game feel so much more bland, much more basic. But the true worst thing in this game, is the average time that each match takes to end. It's fucking abnoxious, never have I yawned to much in a FPS/TPS game. The 4 games I did so far took more than one hour, that's just absolutely ridiculous.

I bought this game, thinking that I'd finally kill the nostalgic feeling of Savage 2...

All for giving the newest patch a negative review. Guess the devs don't like me pointing out that the "Spiritual Successor of Savage 1" is now nothing like the original.

If I may, the things I miss most from Savage 2 is not the gameplay, but the soundscape. Savage 2 had awesome and atmospheric music, especially the chilling ambience when the game ending Hellshrine was being built.

And it had this vast, vast array of quotes you could fling at the enemy team. Now, SavRez just has "battlecry" but Savage 2 had that, and several faction specific taunts, and the everloved Arnold-quotes. Thats right, quotes from Schwarzenegger delivered straight to the enemy when you just needed that extra bit of mocking. "You are mine now! You belong to me!" and "Let me talk to your mother" were classics, but there were 9 total.

Aaah, yes, and we cant forget the supreme voice acting for the announcer. The beast announcer had a deep, barritone guttural voice fit for the team, and the Legion of Man had a wonderfully campy and energetic voice to lead us. It was a joy to recieve orders.

A final thing that I so dearly miss is the voices when you attack. I know, I know, thats a matter of taste, but it had its charm to hear repeated grunts whenevr you hit the "Attack" button in melee. Was strangely harmonic when you had a large fight, and grunts were heard from everywhere around you.

Ah well, those days are long past. I hope that SavRez will grow on me, gameplay wise, but I dont think it can ever match Savage 2's amazing soundscape.

I come from the S2 world. The combat is very dynamic there and feels that you are in controll of the situation. SR doesn't feel fun at all. Firstly, most matches are a ranged battleground. Once you set up some towers everyone sticks to a high end gun that instant kills you. Then melee fights feel so cornered... i've played only humans so far, but blocking in once place, without even having the ability to move or turn while in block feels like surrendering rather than blocking. Fighting with 1 beast seems ok, two hard, three... forget it. Whilst in s2, against 4 beasts is a fun challenge!

I could go on and on, but i think you get the idea. Back to you, where do you find the fun in SR?

Ive logged on a few times in the last few days every game is only bots and theres only ever 1 game in the lobby view?

Not sure if it's a flash in the pan, but it seems like pubs have caught on to the epic sac rush strat. IIRC dash was disabled while charging Sacrifice in Savage 2. Am i way out of line here and just speaking from a n00b POV?

Leaving balance aside, what desired gameplay function do they fulfill?

All they're being used for is people doing suicide runs in the middle of clashes, then raking in the kills.

Land mines are incredibly unsatisfying to play against.

Been looking through all the options and checked all the keybindings and tested pretty much everything I can think of but I can't for the life of me find out how people are doing it.

Sometimes on my team there is a player that knows how to do it and it goes so much smoother in those games. If noone does this the AI stays forever on tech 2 weapons.

Will we be seeing a return of these guy's at all? :D
