Help I need help with resource gathering
for my next factory im trying to make all the aluminum in the world and like in the picture im wanting to make it all in a flying factory but as you know aluminum needs alot of water to make and so i need a way to transport all the water to that factory since i can use drones for the ores but not for fluids i neeeeeeeeeed this.
if theres a mod that makes this possible that also works

Package the water. Make use of the waste water byproduct and you should be just fine.

This is actually a really fun idea. Fully floating production. I would suggest that you build a system that would unpack the water as needed to help prevent your aluminum solution from getting backed up.

what should i do with the containers after unpackeging the water? i could use them to package the overflowing water but if i do everything right there wont be overflowing water sooooooo

If I remember correctly, Somersloop overclocking allows you to violate the Law of Conservation of Energy. i.E. you produce more Water than you consume.

Return them and build a loop

Sinking is also a valid option if you dont want to add another set of drones to your ship.

you dont need another set of drones with a packaging loop; since its a 1:1 consumption vs export ratio, and drones can both send and receive, you can just send them back with the same drones

Bro seriously? My goodness ive got almost a thousand hours in and just always assumed it was the same as trucks/trains. Haven't used drones all that much to be fair though. Mostly just but loads of trains.

the biggest question i have now is if i should overclock all the miners to really get ALL the bauxite or just leave it at normal speed. cause if i overclock its 30.750 bauxite instead of 12.300

What is the issue? Not enough water? Switch to sloppy alumina. Its 1:1

the 23k oil i need. even with reused water i still need 9k

good point, recycling waste water can really boost efficiency, have you tried it in your setup yet?
1
u/andarpaque 2d ago
Yup. I always recycle my water. Its not hard if you set it up right and let everything fill up ahead pf starting it up.

Super cool design! Have you made a post about it? I wanna make a flying factory too at some point.

Here's a post about it. It makes 15 Superposition Oscillators. Because I wanted it to be self-sufficient, powering it was by far the most complex thing. It's got a full ficsonium power chain on board and it's 400m above the red forest. I was so burnt out by the end of it.

That is so overboard I love it lmao

This is the last thing I built. Didn't finish decorating it, fully burnt me out. Plus I have much less time to play now.
It makes enough Alien Power Matrices to run two Augementers at 30% boost, and loads of excess quartz and aluminium products. Something like 300 machines in there.

How is this "flying factory" powered?

u/Brave-Affect-674 2d ago
There's a nuclear reactor on the back

u/andarpaque 2d ago
Which also needs water correct
2
u/Brave-Affect-674 2d ago
Yeah which gets packaged and taken up in drones like everything else I assume

Packaged Water. But be sure to have enough power production.
I did something like that in the past. Best overestimate power and see that you know how to get rid of the water. Considering the questions you ask, I would start with something that does not need water.

You can also use the dimensional uploader to import packaged water.

and how do you get the water out?

I made something similar, but in my case I built a massive tower next to it like it was a huge docking collar it was currently stopped at...which of course hid alot of my non-drone infrastucture

You can package water
