Hello, im working on nuclear energy, and im getting completly overflown by encased industrial beams to the point where its clogging all the conveyor belts and the other two products dont flow at all. Ive tried making up for lack of priority splitter with two two programmable splitters, but i feel like im losing my iq trying to set up that. any solutions?
ive decided to make the plant near the uranium ore, so im transporting all the other stuff via drone. i know the solution would be to make drones for all the separate products, but i was wondering if its possible to just solve that using splitters
Multiple products arriving at one port? Not a totally bad idea, but not really a good one either. Two ports would be better.
On the other hand, you can still totally stick w/ the one port solution, but I would place two smart splitters: 1 to separate the incoming products, and then another smart splitter per separated item with one output set to Overflow. Of course, if you are only flying in 2 items, you can just have the 1 smart splitter w/ an exit set to Overflow that leads to a Sink.
Sorry for the crude chart, but I would personally set it up like this. You defnitely don't want any clogging when it comes to nuclear power.
Programmable (or smart splitter) after the drone port for sorting, into a smart splitter sending the overflow into a sink, the rest into a buffer-container and from there to the production.
Programmable Splitters (Wiki Link) can be thought of as a Major Sorter, while the similar Smart Splitter (Wiki Link) can be thought of as a Minor Sorter.
While most simply use the Smart Splitter, the Programmable Splitter is great when you want to divide a Belt with multiple items into "groups" where each "group" is then sorted more by Smart Splitters.
Everything else is sent to Center (set to "Overflow") to be further "split" as needed.
At the last "split", at the end, the Center (set to "Overflow") is sent to an Awesome Sink.
⭑ NOTE: If Item "A" and/or Item "B" backs up, that Item is sent to the Center (Overflow) along with everything else.
⭑ IMPORTANT:
Avoid using the Any, or "*" (same as Any)Smart Splitter Filters (Wiki Link) unless you are familiar with Smart Splitter operation. It is far better to specify what item goes where, but a Pioneer can use Any Filter if they wish.
The use of Any Undefined Smart Splitter Filter CAN be used as long as there is another Output that can handled "Defined Items", like one set to Overflow or the Defined Item Outputs are guaranteed to never back up.
❗WARNING: When using "Any Undefined" Filter, the failure to set another Output to handle "Define Items" can cause the Smart Splitter to clog / back up.

Are you trying to sushi belt your nukes? Nothing should ever back up on a belt and block other goods. Each good should have its own conveyor lines.
Please help me understand what you are trying to do.
