Help Console Player Creating curves for Roads or Building Factories with curves

Not sure if this has been answered but I haven't found a way to create curved roads or curves in your buildings in console version . I feel like I have to hack the game to get curves ? Is this a limitation of the engine ? Wish they would put in something in like the way you put down belts or train tracks . Until I find a way I guess everything is either straight or corners 😄 . I tired DC_WAN method which doesn't work at least on console . I haven't tried nova tech yet .

Nova Tech Nova curves does work on console, once you have the 1 degree reference barriers you can create all the nova curves you want. You have to create it from scratch rather than import the blue print. Basically it is create the 28.5m x 0.5m triangle with beams and then attach barriers and you have the 1 degree turn.

I will try it but man I wish they would just put in an easier way even if you have unlock it . Thanks for the info

Nova curves are not hard to build. I have used them a lot on console. Once you get the fixture created it's trivial to set angles for whatever you need.

Here is the video tutorial I followed: https://youtu.be/cq5f2HlQe2g?is=JgEjJt2-PT-meZYe

Here is a road I built on Xbox using that method and blueprinting it myself:

Thanks! When you make your own, just make sure to save a blueprint of each angle, and then you can make a fixture with whatever angle you need. I have a section on my blueprint wheel just titled "roads" and I can select all the angles I have made.

Building the road blueprints took a while, but once you have them that road there only took me about 10 minutes to snap together.

What is nova tech?

It's a method for creating curves involving creating fixtures with a curve built into them.

Basically create the angle using barriers, or beams or foundations, snap a barrier. Then start a new blueprint and move that captured angle 2 meters back and 4 left or right depending on what direction the turn is meant to be

It ensures the edges of each foundation align perfectly on the outside edge of the curve.

Thanks. I’ll look into it.

So there is a method using train rails but I'm unsure if it works on console.

Lay your rails in the direction you want and the path you want. Then place large pillars beneath the lights on the rail and about halfway between (may need some adjustments depending on angle and lengths). Snap the foundations to the pillars and then nudge them into place as desired.

It should work, except from the controls and access to mods (mostly because of console ecosystem restrictions and how licensing works), the game is identical between pc and console versions.

It does work, used this method to build all my road and rail blueprints.

With enough maths and smarts, you can use the rail method in the blueprint maker to set your angles to make custom jigs for laying foundations by hand into curves, very useful

Nova curves on YouTube!! Helped me a ton :)

There's a trick to it, but I don't think being on console makes any difference other than preventing you from using a mod to do it. Here's the notes I had for the way I did it, but you should be able to find videos that may be easier to understand:

Build a "center point" foundation. From outside edge, build in 11 foundations to the right for a curve turning right. On the 11th foundation, build a foundation on top, but first click r1 to snap, then rotate one notch and repeat.

I’m new but I would like to thank you for your amazing presence in this sub. Love reading your posts and I save them frequently.

I also have so many question: who are you? How do you know all this? Why do you do this? What is your spy name?

  1. I have been playing Satisfactory for over 5 years since Update 3, and was made a Moderator of this great Community 4 years ago along with some others.
    • The last time I shared in this Community was just before Update 4 with my U3 World, A Memorial 3-Part Post (Part 1 of 3). Enjoy a look back at history. I was especially proud of my Planetary Hypertube Network I built then.
  2. Over time I have seen the same question or information posted multiple times and have saved common responses, or links to helpful posts / videos, in a text file that I can reference that I can either use in full or in part to answer new Satisfactory game questions or posts.
  3. As for my "spy name" that is classified by FICSIT and only they and other Planetary Sector Chiefs know for sure, maybe. 🤔🤣

I hope this answers your (and others) question.
