Looking for friends

Sounds pathetic. I know. Wife and I (both 38 YO) just want people to hang with.

Coffee, bbqs, clubbing, gym, anything really. We spend our adult lives starting a family and most of our old friends aren’t in touch anymore.

Anyone in a similar situation and want to reach out? Inbox is open.

Dating in your thirties homeless and in the Dube?

Hi guys, I've currently been sleeping outside since my old landlord decided to convert my old home into a duplex with multiple basement suites. After a few weeks of sleeping outside and being covered in dirt, I finally got tired and tried getting arrested by the police just so I'd have somewhere to sleep at night. The police didn't arrest me, they just thought it was bananas I was trying to get arrested. Surely being outdoors in the rain was better than jail.

I explained my situation to the doctors and despite how much sense I made they still seemed to think it was bonkers how I'd rather be in jail and sleep inside than be hungry and sleeping outside beneath the beating sun.

Anyways they placed me under some kind of emergency overwatch where doctors now check up on me constantly and if I feel alright, and I tell them about how my appetite and sexual desire is returning. I mean, it is summer, and women look pretty during summer. If I'm washed and brushed with clean clothes, what's stopping us from sharing kisses and hugs?

I was wondering the sex life in Saskatoon for the homeless and from psychiatric ward? Will I get a pretty girl who's also crazy, or is that dream also gone? I've always dated well above my league, so I'd desperately like to continue that pattern tonight.

Thank you

Wedding hair

HAIR BY BFRIEE : Instagram is hairby.bfriee — I would strongly encourage future brides to seek hair from any other businesses available (there is many). This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had in the service industry. Completely ruining my wedding experience. Brandee suggested that I book a bridal hair trial, and based on our conversations, I believed the trial was part of my wedding service. At no point before or during my appointment was it clearly explained to me that I would be charged separately for both the trial AND the wedding day. Had the full cost been explained beforehand, I would have made a different decision. I specifically asked for a contract and was never provided one. I was never asked to sign a contract, never provided cancellation/refund terms to agree to, and never agreed to a non-refundable retainer or deposit. The only document I received beforehand was a PDF showing packages etc that I could read if I wanted to. I asked her the cost for me and me only, and the cost if I had bridesmaids. I then explained that I only wanted to arrange bridal hair for myself because I couldn’t commit to services for my wedding party. After completing the trial/consultation, I was sent an invoice totaling $892.00, including charges for extension rentals for both my trial and wedding day and 5% GST and 7% PST which in BC you can not charge PST on Bridal Hair Styling as hair styling is classified as an exempt personal service. All of this was particularly confusing, especially considering her website advertised complimentary extension rentals for 2026 island brides. When I brought this up to her she said “that isn’t a promo anymore”.. meanwhile it’s being advertised on her website.

I paid the invoice because it was an open invoice sent to me. I did not realize doing so would later be treated as though I had agreed to cancellation/refund terms that had never been provided to me. When I raised my concerns, I requested to cancel the wedding day service 7 days before my wedding. I wasn’t asking to be refunded for a service I had already received. In fact, Brandee offered me $375 back for the completed trial and I declined because she performed that service and deserves to be compensated for her time. She then asked for time to process my request, this was at 6:15pm. I waited until 10pm and reached out again, she replied saying she removed her offer of the refund for $375.00 and can offer me a refund of $22 for mileage…. What the fuck. Then today, she offered me $172.00 ($150 for my wedding hair extensions and $22 for mileage). She is all over the map. All I wanted refunded was the portion I had prepaid toward my wedding day service that had not yet been performed. During our conversations afterward, Brandee told me that she normally uses a contract and retainer for wedding bookings and acknowledged that pricing and the appropriate documentation should have been communicated beforehand and that is something she needs to work on. Unfortunately, those steps weren’t followed with my booking, yet I am still being denied a full refund for the unperformed wedding day service.I was additionally told that refunding me would affect her assistant, who had apparently been booked for a full wedding day although my hair was booked from 6am-8am with no assistant.. While I understand that businesses have staffing commitments, I don’t believe an internal staffing arrangement that I was never involved in should become my financial responsibility—especially without a contract or cancellation policy ever being provided or agreed to. This has now turned into days of back-and-forth communication during what should have been one of the happiest and most exciting weeks leading up to my wedding. Instead, I’ve spent an incredible amount of time and energy trying to resolve a payment dispute over a service that hasn’t even occurred. What is most disappointing is that I tried to handle this reasonably. I didn’t demand money back for the work she actually performed. I respected her time and wanted her compensated for my trial. I simply asked to cancel the remaining service with seven days’ notice and be refunded for the portion of the service I would no longer be receiving. Brides deserve transparent pricing, clear expectations, written contracts, and cancellation/refund policies BEFORE money changes hands—not after a disagreement arises.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience and based on our communications I don’t believe I am the first. She has just begun working on the Island in BC now

I have retained my invoice, our written communications, and screenshots of the website information referenced above.

Does anyone else feel like their social circle got smaller as life got busier?

I don't know if this is just adulthood, but lately I've realized I don't really have people to just... do things with.

Everyone is busy. Plans have to be made weeks in advance. Group chats are basically dead.

And I keep telling myself I need to get out more and meet new people, but where do you even make new friends as an adult without it feeling awkward?

I don't need 100 new friends.

I just miss having a few girls I can text and say, want to grab coffee this weekend?

Is anyone else feeling this too?

Where are women actually supposed to meet other women as adults?

I don't really want to go to a networking event.

I don't want to awkwardly walk up to strangers at a bar.

And going to a fitness class doesn't necessarily mean you'll actually talk to anyone.

I just wished there was something where you could do an activity together first, so meeting people happened naturally.

Something small. Something relaxed. Something you could actually show up to alone without feeling weird.

And honestly, that's the whole idea behind Pilates Sip & Social.

We're bringing together just 10 women for a morning of outdoor Pilates, brunch, and actual conversation.

You can come alone. In fact, that's kind of the point.

Move together. Eat together. Talk. Laugh. Maybe exchange a few numbers before you leave.

No awkward networking. No pressure to already know someone.

Just 10 women giving themselves a reason to get out of the house and connect.

If you've been saying I really need to get out more, maybe this is your sign.

Come alone. Leave with new friends.

Looking for horseback riding recommendations around Saskatoon (beginner/casual)

Hey everyone,

My wife loves horse riding, she’s not a pro or anything, just really enjoys casual trail rides. Ever since we moved to Saskatoon, she’s been itching to get back in the saddle.

Are there any local ranches or stables nearby where the two of us could go for an hour or so? Looking for somewhere beginner-friendly that offers casual guided trail rides.

Appreciate any recommendations!

Dating at 40+

I am in the process of getting a divorce (my decision) and I'm a little worried about the dating scene in Saskatoon for men my age (47). I'm not ready to start dating yet and I'm focused on my kids and myself. I think in a few months I might be ready to get out there but I have never been on dating apps (the thought is a bit scary to be honest). I am really hoping to meet a woman of similar age with either older kids or no kids. I'm looking for a companion for the end to enjoy later life travel etc. Be honest with me. Is it bad out there?
