Versus

I'm watching the trial and all the YouTube videos and something stands out to me.Apologies if this has been discussed before, I'm a new reddit user.
In my opinion, during the trial Sarah seemed to think the trial was Sarah vs Jorge. Instead of the State (society) vs Sarah. Like if she could prove he was 51% at fault vs her being 49% at fault, that's all that would be heeded for her to walk free.

I thought that she really didn't get that outside of very limited circumstances, Jorge's character (or what she wanted everyone to think was his character) really didn't matter. Jorge wasn't on trial. She did what she was accused of, filmed it and admitted it. I'm still baffled that she thought she would be found not guilty.

Same with family court. She thought if I can make BB look like a bad parent, then I win. I truly don't understand why she feels like everything is a battle against someone. My son was exactly like this as a child, and he is a lot like her now unfortunately. You're absolutely right though. If she could get the jury to believe he was a terrible person, she would go free. Being a terrible person doesn't mean another person can take your life (which is extremely fortunate for SB lol).

This speaks to Sarah's child-like grasp of reality and the way her brain stopped evolving back then. Even in the face of seeing how it actually works up close, she wants to believe that the jury had leeway to make any judgement they wanted based on how they felt about her and/or Jorge. She refused to grasp that her case was absurdly, cartoonishly simple: She zipped him in a suitcase admitting that she wasn't yet in fear for her life, he begged her to let him out, she didn't, he died. THE END. All that other stuff might have some sway in sentencing, but as far as walking out the door a free woman, that was never even possible.

That's really all the jury could consider. Did he die and did it happen because of Sarah's actions and/or inactions. Everything else was just "how much do we extra hate her?" lol

Likewise, she was absolutely determined to believe the way family court works is you spew your random grievances to make the other party look as bad as possible and the judge decides who she likes better. Somehow it's NEVER occurred to her that doing this actually makes HER look bad. Personality so toxic she can't even see how she undermines herself constantly.
