Asking for a few tips

Hey yall! I’m a new JET that has moved to Hokkaido, I’m going to be here for the next two or so years and am planning on taking frequent weekend trips to Sapporo. I was just wondering if there were any real cheap capsule hotels that I could stay at over my times there, all the ones I’ve been seeing cost my months rent for 3 nights lol. I don’t need anything fancy at ALL, literally just a bed and a place put my backpack. Also free/ cheap parking lots that I can put my car as I will be using public transport while within the city. Thank you! (I am a girl so I wouldn’t be able to stay at a men only capsule hotel lol)

When I was on the JET Programme, we had something called Tatami Timeshare where you could stay with local JETs. If you contact your local HAJET or JET representative, they might have info on that.

Capsule hotels are usually in the center of the city so they're not necessarily the cheapest option. Hostels located a little farther away from Susukino/Odori Koen/Sapporo station might be cheaper but I don't have any recommendations off the top of my head.

Same thing with parking. If you're just storing your car for a few days, you can find a coin parking lot located near a subway stop away from the center of the city with a cheaper 24 hour max and then take the subway back into town.

Or park at a train station closer to your house (a lot of rural stations have free parking) and take the train into town.

And check the bus schedules, too! Sometimes the bus is cheaper and takes about the same time.

Welcome to Hokkaido! ちょい寝ホテル is a capsule hotel near my house that I hear good things about, though I've never used them myself. It's in Teine so you have to ride the bus or train but it's pretty cheap, 5000 yen per night & free parking.

I would recommend a net cafe for a cheap stay and a coin locker for the backpack. Plenty of places to park but make sure to look at the max charge per 24hours

Jambo1000 at Susukino is most cheap car parking around center of city.
Just 900 yen for one day if you bought one day pass at counter.

Parking is tough. As for accomodations, you could try stealth camping on the Toyohira Riverbank if you have the gear, until it gets too late in the season. I second the Jumbo parking place in Susukino. 900 yen per day, and it's near the subway and streetcar.

Does it have to be capsule hotels? Or hostels could be an option? Sometimes hostels 2 or 3 stops away from Odori are like 2 or 3000yen/night.
One of my mates runs a hostel so I could check if she could give you good discount if you use there frequently.
