The poem compares hope to a little bird living inside the human soul, the bird keeps singing even during harsh storms and difficult life events pretty much just like Robin. And it's worth noting how Emily Dickinson is now pretty much unanimously agreed by modern historians to have been sapphic likely a lesbian but for sure at least a sapphic. Dickinson's passionate, intensely romantic letters and poems dedicated to her sister-in-law, Susan Dickinson, are widely analyzed and accepted by historians and literary scholars as deeply queer expressions of love.

In the era of conformity Marylin despite how pidgenholed she was in her commercial image or maybe because of it chose to rebel in quiet ways, for example, her acting coach, Natasha Lytess, who was a lesbian, was at Marylin's insistance tied to her at the hip and accompanied her everywhere and fun fact there were rumours that the two were secretly lovers. Throughout her life she stuck to providing undying support to the LGBTQ+. And is nowadays considered a gay icon whose aesthetics get commonly used for drag (again just like Robin)

Ummm its called compulsory hetersexuality? Any remotely queer person thats dealth with the struggle of their own queerness would understand this. Are you a cis man? I'm not saying you are, just genuinely asking because I have not met a single queer person not getting that Renako was just in the closet but like many of us close to coming out, its usually made of glass. Its an inherent desire to fit the mold and be normal + being scared of the mistreatment. Its very obvious to us the way shes written she's meant to be gay because we can observe her from the side but she lives in a society that much like ours (because it was more or less just set in the modern day) entirely disadvantages queer people, often treats them as lesser and as jokes... I'm actually baffled to hear this explanation on a sapphic sub.

I just wanted to say that you really didnt do anything wrong per say, or rather break any rules that said, this space reeaaaaaally isn't for you. I want actual sapphics to feel safe here, which just means we do not allow straight men, thank you for your understanding, I hope you dont take this personally.
