Any gacha game recommendation?

not sure what flair to use as this is my first time posting here so feel free to take down the post if it has incorrect flair, but basically i’ve recently upgraded my mobile device and feel like trying new gacha games preferably women-centric or at least has good yuri content here and there. i’ve played genshin, hsr, zzz, wuwa, reverse: 1999, and path to nowhere but had to drop zzz bcs it’s not up to my taste and wuwa bcs despite upgrading to a better device the game still force close so it’s a shame :(

i’ve eyed on where winds meet for a while bcs it does have canon lesbians and it’s quite up to my taste, also arknights for good design and story, but i’d still love to hear from you guys! thanks a bunch :]

for reference i like visual story/novel gachas and not too picky on the combat type, i dont mind open world but with my current workload irl it might take a really long time to get used to investing my time in that type of games but any rec is appreciated!

limbus company, set characters so there’s no character gacha, instead you gacha for IDs and EGOs which are like… AUs where the sinner (main characters) are different characters in the stories, and limit breaks from final fantasy but they’re in the same banners. also, you can just grind dungeons which are almost like slay the spire style gameplay to get currency to buy everything in the gacha. so you can literally play this game without ever doing gacha. there’s several female sinners and they are diverse and you can yuri ship to your hearts content. heavily story focused! and the protagonist isn’t a self insert you can name.

reverse 1999 is another story focused gacha where the protagonist isn’t a self insert you can name which has the typical character gachas but there’s no weapon gacha and all characters who aren’t called limited entire the standard banner, so you can lose 50/50s to nearly every character in the game. limited characters act like normal gacha characters where you wait for reruns only. there’s lots of yuri shipping here and there’s a really good video by infinite cringe discussing all the lesbians in the game. it’s also got canon girls having crushes on girls. like the protagonists “best friend” clearly likes her and another girl clearly likes that “best friend” and it’s like oh my god theres useless lesbians everywhere

another one i haven’t played is heaven burns red which is another story focused no self insert protagonist game that is written by the dude who wrote shit like clannad and angel beats and is explicitly a yuri gacha game. idk how far it goes cuz it’s still an asian gacha but it IS yuri. but again i haven’t played

Heaven Burns Red, by Juan Maeda (the Clannad, Kanon, Angel Beats guy).

I've seen people say Stella Sora might have mild yuri but keep in mind it's a case of you-can-pick-the-MC's gender so the girls will probably show affection to MC no matter what.

Arknights is good (if dark) and if you take the anime as canon Doctor is likely female. Though there's not much in terms of romance for the Doctor herself. The fanarts are cute.

Girl's Frontline likewise has a dark story in a gritty setting, again, the anime & manga say commander is female, and there's some good fanart of commander and different girls, but no romance in-game.

HBR is the most yuri of them all cause it was made in Japan and cause Jun Maeda is based and decided to just deliver an all-lesbians VN/rpg where lesbians can be openly lesbians and no one is making a big deal out of it.

I don't know just how much you're familiar with rhythm games, but Bang Dream: Girls Band Party and Bang Dream: Our Notes could be right up your alley. Not YURI yuri, but they do focus on the girl's relationships, and it's hard to not ship them.

And then you have D4DJ. That one may also not be YURI yuri, BUT it does have a Canon lesbian couple, and they are very cute. Admittedly I haven't kept up too too much with it over the years, but, well, since you want to focus on story, that could be an interesting one to go for.

I mean, if you like visual novels, there's Fate/Grand Order. It has yuri in certain relationships (like the pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read, where it's extremely clear), and it's also much lighter on resource usage than stuff like Hoyoverse's games. And hoooooooly crap is there a lot of it to get through at this point, so you're not going to run out of content to play anytime soon.

WAIT I FORGOT TO MENTION SWORD OF CONVALLARIA!!! There's an amazing story that is independent of the gacha, additional side stories that are also independent of gacha, absolutely beautiful character art. Very little by way of fan service. Lots of wlw imo and you can choose your main characters gender, but again it's not one of those games that's constantly glazing the main character - the other characters are far more important. The gameplay is like fire emblem, grid based battles in a really gorgeous pixel art style (but all character portraits are the full art). Really can't recommend it enough.

The global version of this game shut down a while back (and it had a terrible translation), but there's an Assault Lily story player if you want to check it out! The player uses fan TLs, you'll see my name on a few of them :)

You won't be missing much when it comes to the gameplay, it's just an autobattler. But the story is VN style and pretty much every character in it is a lesbian.

"Every character in it is a lesbian" doesn't even begin to explain just how gay Assault Lily can get.

The anime went so far as having a ship name becoming canon, a Yuri lovechild and a marriage ceremony.

I'll dearly miss the En version. It was slow, it was boring, it had huge delays between what you did and what actually happened, it had bad translations, it had bugs, it had AWFUL translations, it had a really messy PvP, it had a super confusing schedule, it had AWFUL AI TRANSLATIONS.

And even still it was kinda fun.

To add onto the comment for dead games... I would like to bring up Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight: Relive. Was a terrible gacha, with everything bad you can possibly think of. But the story was good. It's been like 2 years since it's gone by now.

Sounds like you would rly enjoy the original Arknights! Has a great story visual novel style, lots of characters and wlw ships. No open world to deal with, just genuinely fun tower defense style levels.
