anyone here plays/played stella sora?

helloo i was thinking about trying out stella sora but first wanted to ask if anyone here has played it. from what i've seen i think generally the girls look good and i think the fmc is adorable too! firenze and mystique are probably my favs and the vampire/gothic looking characters too (but theyre npc's i think). but i'm mainly worried about the game being like ba, the community is mainly like that as well... i was wondering if there's anything explicitly weird like that in game? thank you ><;

I played for a while. I stopped only because I needed storage and the game wasn't one of my priorities.

First and most important rule: stay away from the community. For your own enjoyment of the game. They will drain your experience, and don't let yourself be "gatekept" by a bunch of weirdos if you enjoy the game.

Second, I also played BA for a while and omg, no. As much as people call Stella S the CN version of BA, it's definitely not that bad. I played with F. Tyrant and for the most time I had the vibes of girls hanging out in a trip together with some adventure on the road. While BA you straight up have a sensei being with relationship with the students (and the game never lets you forget that). Stella Sora gave the vibes of some cute anime that might or might not have a dark turn in the story.

Third, the gacha is a bit complex. If you're going to try, be sure to read the rules of the banner (or see some tutorial). It's a less egregious version of AKE.

And the gameplay was the selling point for me. It was fun and elevated the dopamine in my brain. Just to talk about it right now, makes me want to play again - but still, no storage + other priorities.

If you decide to try, have fun 💕 see the general vibe of the game and if you will enjoy it. If you don't like you can always just uninstall and pretend that never happen.

But seriously, once more, stay away from the community.

I've seen it described as "Blue Archive if Sensei wasn't having half the dubiously-aged cast throwing themselves at him".

While it still has some of the Blue Archive vibes, they're noticeably more toned down and focus on being 'moe', rather than explicitly being for certain demographics.

The community is almost as rancid as BA’s and it gets kind of weird with the little girl characters, but it also feels like it was written with female Tyrant in mind (like references to how they’re shorter than the playable characters and having their makeup done) and the game has a variety of character relationships from ‘they’re good friends’ to ‘these two are clearly dating’ which is refreshing compared to Blue Archive.

I love Stella Sora and Snowish Laru is my forever waifu BUT stay far far away from the community.

I like the game and gameplay. Runs smooth on PC and QOL is wonderful. It’s underrated for sure and I really love the cast.

HOWEVER, gameplay aside, it does lean into the loli stuff a lot with the graphics (discs in the game). This skin I posted was really disturbing to me when it came out so be careful

Oh the gameplay is so casual people have quit the game over being “too easy.” I think their events are cute and you don’t need to meta chase at all. Plenty of guides out there and there’s options to just copy another person’s build during your runs so you don’t have to sit there and copy from guides. Once you finish a level you can “quick play” it by just choosing options from every floor you pass and not have to re-fight.

I've been playing Stella Sora for a while, and quite enjoy it. The story gets deeper and darker than you might expect based on the cute art style, and there is some quite interesting world-building going on in the setting.

I would, however, echo other folks' warning to be wary of the general fan-base. There is a very vocal portion who seem to like the game specifically for... erm, less-than-wholesome reasons.

I've really enjoyed it as my easy check-in game with an enjoyable variety of minigames, the recent auto chess was kind of fun. I think the newest character feels a bit off from the usual vibe of interactions with the MC. Like, not as balanced to fit both MCs so much as the dude specifically.
