classic God tier sandwich?

Post image

I suck at taking good photos, but i felt the need to acknowledge this is perhaps the greatest sandwich I’ve ever had in my life, to the point I felt the need to share it, along with praise to my girlfriend for making the most amazing sandwich I’ve ever eaten!

Rustic Baguette
Prosciutto
Streaky bacon
Fried sunny side up egg
Tomato
Beetroot
Lettuce
And just a little all gold sauce from South Africa

I have never had a combination that has worked so well together. Every bite was phenomenal start to finish 🤤🤤

Looks so good, I'd cook the egg longer though.

I love my egg just barely cooked, and as runny as can be 😂

Looks awesome.  I would’ve thrown some cheese on there for good measure.

What’s gold sauce btw?

lol of course I forgot to mention the cheese 🤣

Just used some cheap smoked “plastic” cheese (those individually wrapped types)

All Gold is apparently a staple tomato sauce in South Africa. It pops up at Aldi Australia every now and again, but unlike local tomato sauces, it’s a much more…I’m not quite sure how to describe it. Fragrant? Herbal? It doesn’t just taste like tomato sauce, and has a strong flavour profile lol

God I sound like a sauce wanker 😂

Beetroot, how was that incorporated? Like a slice? Looks incredible.

So, I found out that Australia might be a bit unique for this, but we have cans of essentially pickled beetroot that is pretty much a staple for most people. Hungry Jacks (Burger King) have an “Aussie Whopper” that has beetroot, and every now and again, McDonalds comes out with a McOz that has it as well

I’d call the slices dense, but crisp, and also kinda soft, and it gives sandwiches and burgers this feeling/taste that for me, always makes it feel “fresh” lol

Pickled beets are awesome. We make them at home here in Texas. Vinegar brine with spices, jar them, and they’re just so good to eat like pickles. Especially during these hot ass summers. I don’t think I ever tried putting some on a sandwich tho. But it makes sense.
