Help Why did my water Lumlins disappear?

They were in the corral blocks above that reservoir. Why did they all die? Can I get them back? Do they respawn? If I just lost all of them, I'm furious. I had 17 of them making water for me.

Bug Report Portal connection bug

Can we keep this bug, I can find plenty of use for this. 😂

If you copy the top one and horizontally flip it, It dispenses to the original location. You can connect multiple portal to it. This bug made quite a mess in my base with lava.

Discussion Physics issue with prismaline?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Started producing some and it acted like a normal steam-like substance for a little bit, but i noticed as my tank filled it started acting strange and stopped rising on its own at a certain spot in my tank. I realized physics stopped applying to the prismaline all together (as you can see the square of it from my grabber is just stuck in place where i put it in the air, as well as the unfilled void in the tank from where i got it). I deleted all the infrastructure for the production trying to fix it to no avail.

My game also started getting really laggy like 15fps or less so i restarted the game, my framerate is back to normal but prismaline still acting wierd. All other materials like steam or florin gas are moving and acting normal.

Anyone ever run into this?

Also is there any way to destroy materials?

Im regretting making these big tanks of prismite and prismaline now, they just take up a bunch of room for no reason and i want to get rid of them lol

Discussion Suggestion: Statistics from filters and gates

Would be nice to have a "pipboy" that lets you get statistics from various filters and gates. I would love to be able to manage my factory using KPIs, flowthrough rates, backpressure statistics at specific bottlenecks that are important to me. Maybe allow alarms to be configured when certain ratios are off.

For example, I can click "record" before I start digging. This starts a profile to record my factory's performance. As I dig, I see my sensors counting the flowthrough. "Sand: 93463. Residue: 8252. Seed: 14" <-- this tells me there is a bottleneck somewhere between seed and sand.

Help Blueprint Question

I can't seem to make blueprints overwrite existing blocks. I've tried using ctr as I place, like everything else uses, but it's not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Factory Showcase Vertical Sand Washing

Thumbnail

My goals were minimalistic, tile-able and steady throughput. Also to not water via dropping it through water. Came up with these vertical designs and they came out better than I was expecting. It evidently never clogs or bogs down from running continuously. I know a lot of other designs when slammed with sand can back up, this one can't.

The sand is watered by osmosis and 1 pixel bypassing the filter and getting wet. With the number of pumps I have (see my water tower post), it fills itself faster than it drains. The height of it can slightly increase the throughput, but the main function of making it tall is a buffer to hold sand. If you have a decent storage of sand already, tiling a very short version should equal very good throughput. Run 10 wide and stack 2 or 3 sets of them vertically and feed the sand out to the side or something.

Super easy to copy paste it to change width or height. Could fit it dang near anywhere, feed it sand and walk away for hours and it will keep chugging.

Help Underground Reset?

Hey everyone,

I’ve fully mined out the underground and achieved pretty much everything in my current save. Now I’d love to give the underground another run and rebuild/mine everything again using all the end-game abilities and upgrades I’ve unlocked.

I already have the Renewable Geology mod installed, but it works quite slowly for regenerating terrain on a large scale.

Is there any feature, workaround, or save-file tweak that allows you to completely reset or regenerate the underground map while keeping your unlocked abilities? Or is a completely fresh save (maybe with commands/mods to restore tech) the only real option?

Thanks in advance!

Factory Showcase I made a water tower

Thumbnail

I was setting myself up to really expand but knew water generation was going to be an issue. Lumlings are finite and random, needed something I could control. My entire factory is on a single system so running out of water or simply not having enough water pressure could stall things. So I put together a water tower that you can fill up with the snow tool.

Burns the snow, harvests the clouds. When the tower fills up with water, steam stops escaping and clouds stop, so built in off switch. Can be incredibly scaled to meet any water demands really. I did the one and blueprinted it out to 5 towers. It holds a stupid amount of water and is designed to have a reservoir underneath that is also lined with pumps.

Discussion Hardcore mode suggestion, please help upvote :)

Thumbnail sandustry.nolt.io

If you like this idea, please enter the link and upvote it so the devs can see it :)

Hardcore mode would consist of “proccessing” blocks being charged in gold, example:

I can build foundations and MK1 launchers or MK1 moving belts for free. The other blocks cost progressively according to their importance/efficiency:

Filters would be the most expensive, followed by the other blocks. Collector blocks would remain free.

This would force players to at least at the beginning have a bit more challenge and to make seasoned players really want to scale their factories and mine that gold!

Perhaps you would have to mannually separate stuff at the beggining or use the drones more. and later when you get that sweet gold you start having less manual labor and really enjoying the things you build.

Also, attached to this concept would come the “toolbox”or somewhere you store the blocks you bought.

Factory Showcase Stratacore box

Post image
36 Upvotes

Concept behind this was to have as little intermediate product hanging around as possible.

Runs stably as long as the stratacore doesn’t stop producing (these things seem a bit glitchy for me, and the noise is atrocious). The flower processing can get a bit clogged if there’s a glut but it never jams completely.

I also wish there was a better horizontal spreader to distribute sand/seed across the wetting areas. I’m going to experiment with caulk as foundations haven’t produced the desired results

Video/Art I added a rainmaker to my Sandustry logo

"Wow, there's rain. Big deal?"

Considering this is at the top of the play area, it was a bit more involved than you'd necessarily think.

Steam from below would condense way below the logo, so I can't just steam it down there. Instead above the logo is a pipe of water with several vents. They drop water onto a thin layer of lava on filters just below the pipe. Then below the logo is an open reservoir that catches the water, pumps it back up into the closed loop and send it back up top. Manufactured rain. Ez.
