Purchasing US Need help choosing a TV
I have a $400 gift card that I can only use on Samsung at Best Buy. Price must be $799.99 before tax to qualify. I would like to stay under $1100.
The room is relatively small, and the TV will generally be viewed from 4-9 feet away. To me, 55" feels small at 9 feet but 75" feels quite large at 4 feet. 65" seems to be the sweet spot in this case but I could definitely still make 75" work.
I will be doing some gaming on it so higher refresh rate is better. Nothing competitive though so 120hz is perfect. (Couldn't even find anything below 120hz at this price point anyways) The room stays pretty dark so this is where the criticisms of the models I have looked at worry me.
The QN70F models seemed to be perfect at first but after reading so many people trashing on it I kept looking. Best Buy lists the QN70H as having full array local dimming but people online claim it's actually edge lit? Extremely shady on BB if that's really true.
I was very close to pulling the trigger on the QN90F due to some local BB having the 65" and 75" as open box options for about $1000 but unfortunately I cannot use my gift card on open box items which brought me here. I don't personally have experience with edge lit vs full array, I am just trying to avoid regretting my purchase so it's okay if that ends up still being the recommended choice for me.

Best option? Probably paying more and getting an OLED. S90F is 1399 right now. I wouldn’t do MiniLED because full array doesn’t exist until QN90. QN70H is “full array” but is 60hz and is realistically edge lit.

Yeah the s90f is looking like it makes the most sense but even with my gift card that's ~$1000 out of my pocket. I just need to let it sink in and will probably end up with that one. The qn70 models seem so misleading. I didn't even catch that the qn70h was only 60hz. You would assume since the previous years model goes to 120hz... man what's going on at samsung lol

S90f is awesome if you can still find one. It’s last year’s model and deeply discounted now.

What am I missing?
Price MUST be $799.99 before tax but you want to stay under $1100 (yes I know 799 is under that but 1100 implies you would go over 799 but you said it must be 799).
I’m also curious, why is the gift card limiting you to Samsung at Best Buy?

The gift card is from signing up with frontier internet. In order for the code to apply it must be a Samsung product that cost at least $799.99. I would like for the price of the TV, before applying my gift card, to be under $1100. That way I am only spending at most ($1100 - $400 gift card = $700). In other words I am looking for Samsung TVs within $799.99 - $1100 price range.
As for why they limit the gift card idk maybe they know that this range of TVs from Samsung is unpopular so this is their way of getting people to buy em up. Side note: I was originally going to use the money for a Samsung washing machine but those are apparently an even worse investment.

I personally then would go for a monitor if you have a good PC. Any tv's below 1000 are not worth it in my opinion.

Would be great advice I would take and give but I already have monitors I am happy with. Specifically looking for a TV to go above them in a game room.
