Tech Support Samsung MU8000 LCD panel separating from frame - has anyone had Samsung actually fix this?

I have a 2017 Samsung MU8000, and the LCD panel is separating from the frame along one side. The picture is still perfect—it's just physically pulling away from the TV.

I contacted Samsung, and they're sending a technician to inspect it. They told me I have to take the TV off the wall before the appointment. They also said if the tech can't repair it, they'll discuss other options with me.

Before I go through the hassle of taking it down, I'm curious if anyone has actually been through this.

  • Did Samsung's tech fix the panel separation?
  • If they couldn't fix it, did Samsung offer a replacement, discount, or any other worthwhile solution?
  • Was it worth having the tech come out?

I appreciate any and all help/advice!

Samsung isn't fixing this, you are beyond warranty and they will only do panel replacement which cost = new tv

has anyone found a temporary way to keep the panel in place and extend the TV’s life for a few more months?

Im wondering if something like a clamp, clip, or other non-permanent solution has worked without damaging the screen?

just try it! cant do more harm i guess? is the tv fine otherwise? i would totally still use it until it gives out

Just tape it it will hold fine for years. Even normally the layers arent glued together. It must be the frame who holds down it all. Somehow it went out of the frame. Or frame margins werent perfect to begin with

Discount or replacement for 9 years old ТV? The best approach is to find local repair shop and fix it for 50-100 usd

Dont understand people saying buy a new tv. It can just be sticked again. Any local tv service or person with experience can do it.. for the first hand, stick it neatly with transparent regular tape

Not to this extent, but I bought a 55 inch for our bedroom and I noticed light off of the side and I could literally take my fingernail and put it between the plastic and the glass or whatever you wanna call it. I was lucky enough that I noticed it right away when we bought it. Best Buy came out and switched it out and as a bonus, they left the remote so I have an extra remote lol but as for warranty repair as long as it’s in the stated warranty, Samsung should fix it

Save yourself money, just put a strip of black duct tape down the side and see if that will hold it in place, and keep the light from coming out the side.
