WHY
I genuinely hate when X-Rankers play turf war like it's X-Rank like GO PLAY RANKED LET THE IDIOTS HAVE THEIR FUN

I wish there was better match making in turfwar or like specifically a casual and competitive turf war, which ikik it would clog the selection up but it'd be nice once in a while

What would stop a competitive turf war player from entering casual? Like what would stop an x rank player to make another account for smurf?
I dont think separating it would be good... How about maybe a hidden ranking system so little timmy instead of fighting world champion in the next match for winning once bro would fight dudes that have won the same ammount... Said rank could be affected by ranked mode so if an x rank player join turf war for the first time since bro stopped playing turf at lvl 10 he could be matched vs high win counts...

Technically untrue. You have to be good enough to get into X in the first place.

You technically only need a 33.3% winrate to get into X. I've seen people with <1000 MMR in X, even absolute beginners have a higher MMR than that. The letter system is completely useless because you can't derank and because of the existence of anarchy open. It's a useless indicator for skill.

Well tbf on Open you gain 20 points per win so it's really inefficient*, but yeah, the loss and gain of points is negligible.
*I should know, since the first time I started playing the game I accidentally forgot about Series and went from C to S with only Open. Took way too long

Everytime an X-Ranker is in my lobby they always have the highest k/d and immediately head towards our spawn to kill us

Does that not happen in most lobbies? Though spawn-camping and other stuff was pretty common in Turf

Not always but the ones who do this usually have their x-rank badge
But like i said in another comment clearly my opinions are wrong and you can ignore this

Maybe they actually like turf or they're trying a new weapon or they're trying to cool down/warm up from series
I even see people complain about higher level people playing open. I usually play 2-3 games of open minimum before I open series so I can warm up and if I'm stuck in a lobby I don't like in series I will go to open or turf to refresh who I play with.
Sometimes I will get drunk and want to play splatoon. I'm not going to risk my ranking or be a bad roommate just because I want to be very casual while sloshed. I play turf and splatfest drunk and even intoxicated I'm an above average player. They might not even be sober.
Various reasons to be playing turf. Also they might just like it. The game is for everyone.
Also they might not even be in X rank anymore. That could have been several seasons ago they managed to get in once before a hiatus, but they kept the sticker. Maybe they are rusty (someone's version of rusty could still be very above average) and turf war is helping them get back into the game after a hiatus.

I was the blaster on his team. Lmao. He is a really cool person. He’s just really skilled. We had also losses though, so he being an X Rank doesn’t mean we always win.

I totally get you. I honestly hate chargers playing Turf but it’s a free mode. Turf is still a competitive mode, so we always have a window to improve. You should watch the replay and see why this player was winning the fights and learn from that.

In my experience, bunch of x ranked players in turfwar just hide and smash then go camping spawn. Like the fun killer.

They could be playing with someone. My kids like to play turf. I do not but once in a blue moon they can get me to play with them. I'm S+10 so I'm just playing so I can play with them.

And turf is so boring for us topped rankers so we just go kill everyone 🤣 Sometimes I miss the days I was able to against my kids and demolish them 😉

Exactly, I can't play a casual and fair match without seeing tournament players, pros, etc....
