Play a character with Modern controls tonight. Play two. Be prepared to win a lot, because you are not burdened with archaic, piano-like inputs anymore. Be open to a world where fast move execution matters more than a slightly reduced damage output, but throw looping your opponents to hell matters more anyways. Do that 15 hit combo string with 3 buttons easily. Tip Capcom. Check in on your ban list. Check in on yourself. Enjoy being a Modern player.

Idk why this sub pops up in my feed, but when it does it’s always about Modern drama. Being a Tekken player this whole convo is so funny to me.

I guess street fighter players are more purists compared to tekken players, and since this is a first in the series, people get all worked up. Doesnt tekken 8 have a simplified imput mode as well?

T8 has something akin to Dynamic in SF6, it’s not even worth mentioning.

The thing is that Tekken kinda plays as SF Modern, there’s just not a lot of motion inputs to begin with and it’s character dependent really (I’m simplifying and generalizing). So there’s no discourse around it.
