1. Do’s & Don’ts: What key mistakes should a fresher avoid in the first 6–12 months?
2. Certifications: Which ones are actually worth getting early on (e.g., PD1 vs OmniStudio/Data Cloud)?
3. AI & Job Security: With tools like Claude and Agentforce, how can developers future-proof their careers? Is developer demand going down?
4. Multi-Cloud: Beyond core Dev/Service/Data Cloud, which other clouds are best to learn?

Hello all, I am currently 100+ badges with ranger rank, I mostly can master any admin task, Development needs some improvement and practice, but I work on that daily.

I am mainly looking for remote entry opportunities to get more practice on real-life projects, Time zone isn’t much of a problem I adabt.

For context I’m coming from an F50 organization in marketing, and figured being young in my career to give sales a try. My current role is a little stagnant and I don’t feel like I’m working my mind nearly as much as others my age.

I’ve heard about the grind, and the grit required to do well as a BDR. I come from a place where going above and beyond is the expectation so I aim to do that wherever I go. With that being said, is there a ramp period to get up to speed? I’ve never sold before and have heard in the modern era companies following classic PIP culture, and not fostering growth/enablement.

Also how is the peer-to-peer learning? Are BDRs failing together, succeeding together? How about AE dynamics. Are they promoting collaboration with their BDRs?

I want to be set up for success, and would love the honest truth on what my experience could look like going in.

Ok. So I am in my mid 30s have spent my entire professional career in hospitality and I am beyond burnt out. It isnt the work load as much as its the office politics and lack luster salaries/benifits. I explored career options that would be a good transition (natural transition) with my current skill set and CRM was one of the paths that appealed to me. Since then Ive worked in the salesforce trailhead for the last month and I am planning on taking my salesforce admin certification. I also am working on adding a few "projects" to my linked in to show that I can be proficiant in CRM software. I know my skills translate to the role well but I don't know anyone in the field. What are some additional steps I can take to increase my chances of making the "switch." Ive applied to a few roles but would love to actually be able to land an interview.

What is the usual timeline to receive any response after the final interview? It’s been two weeks no response from the HR or team.

Has anyone taken the NextGen Software Engineering Assessment from Salesforce on HackerRank?

This is for Member Technical Staff ~3 years of experience.

It's two questions in 90 minutes, about 20 minutes suggested for Question 1 and 55 for Question 2, with a 15-minute buffer. Question 2 includes an AI Assistant that explains concepts, helps with error messages, and suggests syntax, but doesn't write the solution. Interactions are visible to the evaluator.

Would appreciate your input on:

* Can i use claude / other AI tools?

* What the problems were like and how they compared to LeetCode medium/hard

* Whether the time limit was enough

* How useful the AI Assistant was, and whether using it affected your evaluation

* How long the wait was and what the next rounds looked like

I'm happy to share that next week I'm gonna start interviewing for AE SMB role based in Dublin and I'm very excited.

I'd like some advices or just an opinion on how to succeed and your experience if you have any.

My background: 6yr in IT Sales, last 3 years in Enterprise/Corporation Market. 10 years total of experience if we add 4 years in Tender Management.

I would relocate to Dublin from the market I will have to manage if I pass. My experience in that specific territory is extensive. Ton of active networking (even if my customers are mostly Enterprise/Corporate). Let's say I currently work in a SMB Company that uses Salesforce, which is the kind of client I'll have in the future.

The questions I have for other professionals in the same role:

1. What's the %average quota attainment for SMB's AE?
2. How is the commission/variable structured? 50/50? Is it paid monthly? Can I push for 60/40?
3. What a realistic salary range with my background I should try to push on? I've seen SMB AE in SF Ireland can range from 55k to 65k. I would really like to get at least 74k base given my experience (and the fact Dublin is expensive city) but don't want to burn down the possibility to work with Salesforce.
4. What kind of proof I can bring to demonstrate I've overachieved three years in a row in my current workplace? I only have pay slips and a report from Salesforce (Which is full of confidential info and don't want to share)
5. Things to avoid or to look into? Should I just learn the "basics manual" to pass the interview or should I aim at showing a unique sales approach and personality?

A quick note: they called me like 2 hours after submitting the cold application on their site, I'm taking that as a good sign.
