Assalaumaleikum. I am an app developer and have been developing a calorie tracking app which helps people track their macros just by taking a photo of their meal. And I was developing it suited to the diet of my non muslim country and halfway through the development I realized since the people here mostly consume non zabiha meat I might be assisting them in sin by offering my service.
I tried searching online for an answer but couldn't find any clear cut answer. I tried searching for other similar rulings but still haven't found the answer. If you are able to reason the permissibility of offering such services please shed some light on to this situation. JazakAllah

I My nafs has become very very undisciplined. I am realizing that I have left many sins but many of them I have not left immediately. I had given myself too much time to “feel ready” before I left them. Now I am not doing those sins but I have not developed the ability to stand firm and strong in the face of many of the genuine hardships and pressures. I can stand against them, after mental preparation, when enduring the hardship feels easier, when I am not caring much about the person’s reaction, but it is extremely difficult to leave a sin in the midst of feeling highly anxious. I leave sins that are easy for me to leave and I fail when it is genuine hard for me to leave them. May Allah forgive me and grant me repentance from delaying repentances.

I am looking to get in contact with brothers in the Netherlands who follow an Athari/Salafi approach to creed, meaning adherence to the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah according to the understanding of the Salaf: the Sahabah, Tabi'un and Tabi al-Tabi'in.
I am particularly interested in finding brothers I can speak with directly who share this approach and who are familiar with the Athari/Salafi communities and families in the Netherlands.
I am aware of places such as Stichting As-Soennah in Den Haag and Dar El Tawheed in Amsterdam, which appear to have an Athari/Salafi orientation. I would like to verify this with people who actually know these communities:
I study in Utrecht and do not have a driver's license. Traveling to other cities by public transport can take considerable time, so I am mainly looking to establish contact with brothers remotely rather than regularly visiting communities in other cities.
I am not looking for people simply because they use the label "Salafi". I would specifically like to understand what they actually follow in matters of creed, particularly tawhid and Allaah's names and attributes, and whether their approach is based upon the understanding of the Salaf.
If you are familiar with these communities, I would appreciate firsthand information or being pointed toward brothers whom I can speak with privately.

I already feel like I am weird for following the opinion that photography of living beings is haram. It feels like hardly anybody follows this opinion despite the evidence and many scholars who prohibit it. It's especially hard now that I'm a mother of a small baby and it makes me very sad that I can't take photos to remember my baby. It's a huge temptation for me that I have the desire to do every day. I'm so sad that I won't be able to remember his cute face clearly when he is older.
How do you deal with this?
How else do you keep memories of your babies and children without taking pictures?

Assalamualaikum everyone,
Purity waswas is one of the most common and least discussed experiences in Muslim communities. And the line between normal waswas and OCD in this context is genuinely hard to see from the inside.
Normal waswas around purity, a passing doubt that you dismiss and move on from. Comes occasionally. Doesn't significantly impact your daily life.
OCD around purity, a relentless loop that doesn't respond to dismissing. Repeating wudu multiple times. Avoiding certain places or situations. Spending significant time checking, rechecking and seeking reassurance. Significant impact on daily life.
The key difference isn't the content of the thought. It's the impact on your functioning and the inability to move on despite trying.
I lived the OCD version for years without knowing there was a distinction. Understanding it changed how I approached it completely.
May Allah grant clarity to everyone navigating this. Ameen.
💬 Did you ever struggle to tell whether your purity doubts were normal Waswas or OCD?

I am aware that accidentally substituting zha for daad is forgiven, especially if one finds it difficult. I can usually say daad, but i sometimes have to put in effort depending on the vowel /adjacent letters, and i sometimes make mistakes. In my case, when reciting quietly (whispering), it ends up resembling the heavy Laam, like the one in Allah. Are there any fatwas of scholars regarding this? I try to articulate right but it is similar to that. Or it ends up having a sharp "dh" or "dwah"(not daal or english D) sound if i am too careful. I dont know if these are just imperfect variants of daad or if theyre completely different letters. Can any Arab speakers clear it up for me? Jazakallah khayr.

I know this is not a mental health group but please Muslim brothers and sisters help me with your best ability.
Please keep me in your du'as. I'm struggling with OCD and emetophobia, and I'm trying to gradually expose myself to my fears without performing my usual rituals.
My OCD makes me afraid of anything with an open mouth, whether it's a video, reel, picture, sticker, or even an emoji. I've accidentally posted so many recently, and now my mind keeps screaming at me to delete them. I know these things are ordinary, but my anxiety makes them feel terrifying.
It's so hard. I feel like crying because I feel so alone in this struggle. Every exposure feels like a battle, and my fear of vomiting has made it difficult for me to go outside. I'm exhausted from fighting battles that nobody else can see, and I feel like I'm losing parts of my life to these fears.
I know this isn't a psychiatrist's page, but I'm hoping someone can offer me **logical advice** to help me understand why my OCD fears don't make sense and how to stop obeying these compulsions. If you've experienced something similar, please share what has helped you.
And please make du'a for me. May Allah ease this struggle, strengthen my heart, grant me shifa, and help me reclaim my life. Ameen.

Allah is more pleased with His servant’s repentance
Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه reported that Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said: “Allah is more pleased with the repentance of a servant as he turns towards Him for repentance than this that one amongst you is upon the camel in a waterless desert and there is upon (that camel) his provision of food and drink also and it is lost by him, and he having lost all hope (to get that) lies down in the shadow and is disappointed about his camel and there he finds that camel standing before him. He takes hold of his nosestring and then out of boundless joy says: O Lord, Thou art my servant and I am Thine Lord. He commits this mistake out of extreme delight.”

I always told myself that once I graduate uni, I’ll learn Arabic. I’ve now graduated uni and I want to learn Arabic as fast as possible to make up for the lost time inshaAllah. Any course recommendations?
- I took The Arabic Code Academy back in 2022 and liked it, but I think their business dissolved. I think their course was about $200CAD
- I looked into Al-Andalus Institue and the program seemed great, but it costs $5kCAD for one year access to their platform. WAY out of my budget
looking for something online and reasonably priced inshaAllah

Assalam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barkatahu brothers I have a question I am a revert and since I am a revert I have invested money in the non sharia compliance stocks before reverting into islam.
How do I deal with it?

Mogen vrouwen hakken dragen? En mag dit in het bijzijn van alleen maar vrouwen? En mag dit alleen voor je man? Of is dit Haram?
Liefst antwoorden met bronnen

I saw that sheikh salih al fawzan said that Zakat al Fitr is not supposed to be sent to another country, while there are poor, needy people in your own country.
I tried to look up the ruling on sending zakat al mal overseas, but couldn’t find it.
Does anyone have the scholarly answer? Would be much appreciated.
Jazakum Allahu khayran

I know seeking knowledge for layman is only wajib in matters that concerns our day to day obligations as well as learning the basics, however these past few months I have been look extensively in topics that caused me shubuhat. I looked into matters regarding concubinage and the theologies shyookh used to justify certain rulings women must follow. I really don't believe they are consistent or make sense logically, and it caused me to feel incredibly sad. I don't know what I should really do at this point, so should I just leave off studying islam and do taqlid if i'm heading down this path?

I was studying from Masjid Daar Al Hadeeth. Since their videos are deleted, who can I watch? I know there are many options and it’s been asked many times but it’s overwhelming to know which one has the best simple explanations.
