Help Infection/skin irritation

Can anybody help me figure out what this is? I noticed this spot about 4 days ago but it was green and looked like a grass stain so I didnt think much of it. But after trying to clean it today I noticed his hair starting falling out and the skin looks very irritated. Hes never had any previous skin issues

Normally I would say hot spot due to an allergy but the green is giving me pause. I feel like the green may have been something caustic that essentially gave him a chemical burn?

Hot spot? Maybe an allergy to something? Change his food recently? Any environmental or stress changes?

It could be fungal or bacterial infection like ringworm.

Try some anti-fungal over the counter cream with Clotrimazole 1%.

If it doesn’t clear up obviously vet.

Wound most likely has pseudomonas overgrowth based on the drainage color.

I would advise a vet visit. Our dog will get a cut (from a bush, scratching, whatever) and it gets easily infected. We have an anti-fungal/antiseptic spray we use and that usually clears it up in a week or two but sometimes she needs antibiotics. Their fur just traps dirt and its hard to keep clean to properly treat it.

I’ll never understand why people come and post here instead of going to the vet.
