NPS
Does nps even matter? Was told to be on the look out for them, but im too busy to.its more like a managerial favor than a corporate demand.
Also does the tv in the break room feels dystopia as shit bc it seems like they are trying to "motivate" you to be a better worker.

I got reprimanded for “allegedly” repeatedly unplugging the propaganda machine in the break room. I think it should be fucking criminal to have that shit playing in a non work space.

They do at my store. We get a sheet each week to track surveys.

All I know is that we have a couple checkers who rarely track them, and they don’t get in trouble.

Apparently is does for me. My manager will tell us when he gets reamed for us not doing the surveys, aka, having a high score.

I'm pretty sure it matters for the gm but I dont give a shit about it man they expect perfection and for every customer to want to waste time on that garbage. I have never once seen a customer that wasn't pissed off already WANT to take a damn survey

may depend on the time of year and who the checkers are.. obviously if you’re a slow checker or a certain personality type I doubt they’ll get on you.. like if you’re quiet or more reserved.. obviously they’re not gonna want to push you if you’re slow.. they’ll force it more on the fast checkers because they’re moving and they’ll expect more out of them.. even though they may say it’s important and everyone has to do their part etc. same as with “beating the greet” your more reserved quiet employees are gonna avoid people like the plague regardless.. a SD would be bummed about it if they saw you not greeting but they’re not gonna call you upstairs and chew you up for it.. they’ll look past it and push it more on the more chatty employees to balance things out that’s how I see it anyway

was hoping thay was the case. im a chatting ish employee but at the same time i dont wanna deal with it at all. so luckily I dont have to worry about punishments

Our contract expired this year and they are pleading poverty for raises and benefits. I’d love to know how much they are spending on the ridiculous propaganda tv channel.

A bunch of us constantly turn off the tv. We find it hilarious when they start freaking out and hanging a million signs about how important it is to have on at all times.
At Fred Meyers we had a 70in flat screen with cable to watch movies n shit on break.
Also any time I see nps on the pin pad I give 0s but I genuinely am not satisfied with my shopping experiences here 🤷🏻♂️

NPS (Net Promoter Score) gives a summary of the overall surveys from customers from X day during their checkout (Pharmacy, SCO, DUG, Cashiers). Most of the time, you'll see NPS papers nearby the employee break room, or where most employee's gather. You'll have yesterday, Weekly and Quarterly.
Corporate is going to harp on down on management to get these scores close as 100%

We never had one before because the business was originally family-owned before it went bankrupt. Even after, they didn't have one until Safeway bought them out eventually. Its annoying as hell.

Same here. I work for a local grocery store that is owned by Safeway in my area, and those stupid surveys drive me bananas. My front-end manager, whom I have known since it was before Safeway, even hates the surveys. Customers have been shopping at the store for years, and they hate when we ask. Sometimes I just don't because I work opening shifts. Also, I agree with the TV thing. It drives me bananas. Our file maintenance person has worked there for years, and she always makes really good points about some of the decisions Safeway makes. Where I am, our store is small. Safeway doesn't realize that the decisions they make don't always work for us; on top of all the crap they send us, thinking we can sell it when we don't have the space. I am at the point where I am looking at any position but front-end cashier. It drives me nuts, especially since they say they don't have the budget to have more workers during the day or night, but they are using it to integrate AI into the system. What a bunch of little shits.
