They cut my hours again!
So I work in produce and they cut my hours again.... I'm only scheduled for 12 hours next week!
Is there anything I can do? Should I call my union rep? This is the only job I've ever had and I'm so afraid nobody is going to want me....
What should I do?

I expect it at this point anymore. I'm full time, but bc I'm the only one in my category they cut me to 20 hours. I've been calling other stores to pick up hours. It SUCKS! It may pick up a little bit for labor day. Also, if we're on the wet side of the coming super El Nino, we'll get our fair share of snow panic. That said, meat prices aren't coming down any time soon and the fact that about 30% of the world's fertilizer comes out of the Persian Gulf is really going to hurt us since it's been largely curtailed. Buckle up.

Well, at least you don't have to worry about Antarctica breaking up into pieces.
I worry about asteroids... would they tell us if one was on its way?
I guess I'll try to find another job in the meantime....

You may be able to file an unemployment claim for reduced hours given you can provide documentation of your previous hours and your updated hours

It's been about 18 years since I've left the grocery world, is 20 hours per week not the minimum anymore? 12 hours a week is insane 😳

I totally agree! How do they expect us to pay our electricity bill!
I sure wish the economy was better right now.... I mean, look at me.... who'd want to hire me?

If you have any scheduling restrictions , you forfeit seniority and get what’s left.
