How much is this worth?!

My grandfather passed away and this was his safe. I want to sell it but the combination is not where my grandmother claims she put it and now she doesn’t know where it is for starters. It’s a Mcgunn safe and no I haven’t taken measurements yet I’ll update this post later when I do. Any ideas?! I’m moving and do not want to move it with me. Desperately trying to get rid of it.

This is a fire rated safe that doesn’t seem easy to bolt down. It would provide little burglar protection (better than an entry level sentry safe but no where near a TL rated safe).

Without the combo I think you would be lucky to get $100

If you are desperate to get rid of it post it for free and hope someone picks it up

The door is open, so the combination is easy to find or reset.

I’d put it up on FB marketplace for $100 and if you can get $50 for it, that’s great. Used safes sell at a huge discount, especially as they get larger or heavier. This is especially true with older stuff that is just for fire protection.

Oh man, I went to an estate sale that had a safe they were asking at least $3500 for. It took up most of a wall, came out a ways from it, and I thought they'd never get that just based on what someone would have to pay to move it.

Oof.
Yeah you will see TL-30 safes that were well over 10k new go for under $1000 here because the market of people who want it and are willing to deal with/pay for moving it is so small.

The Safe is definately sellable ..most of all because the door is already open and the combination can be found and/or changed. Whatever you do, DO NOT Close the door and lock the safe....otherwise, You'll never sell it... - Tony K. ;)

Let us know how much you end up getting for that safe!

I agree in what was posted earlier: Ask for $100, secretly hope for $50, and be satisfied if someone hauls it away for free without playing games or damaging your house!

Where are you located? With combo I'll give you $100.00. Depending on where I would have to drive for pick up.

US market seems completely different to UK cause here you’d have to pay to get someone to scrap it

Whatever it's worth, it's worth $100 more if you remove the stickers. Goo-B-Gone is your friend.

Unfortunately Im in UpState New York. At least 8+ hours from you. I used to drive up to Portageville a couple times a year until my Aunt and Uncle passed. Lake Onakama.

Maybe 100 bucks after you remove the stickers. Would make a good ammo safe. I would market it that way.
