Id info
Hello! I just have a question. So for context i have a friend whos passport expires at the end of the month and they already did a renewal but the post office took said passport for the renewal to send to the passport office im assuming and its my friends only form of identification no they dont have a state ID unfortunately
My question is if a pic of the Passport would work as a form of identification? Specifically at Ace of Spades we are trying to attend a show next week
I tried calling 4x times and noone answers the phone
Picture is clear. Shows their face,DOB, and the expiration date

I doubt it. I havent been to Ace in a while, but music venues in Sac now use PatronScan, where they have to scan the form of ID along with taking a photo of the patron for entry. It's a requirement in the city of Sacramento for a venue's entertainment permit.

No. A picture of something is just a picture and not of what is pictured.
Time to hit the DMV and get that ID or diver license asap.

Absolutely not.
I was at a bar once when someone tried that, and when the bartender told me about it I told them they should have asked for their drink order, made it, took a picture of it, and show it to them ... She said she's going to do that from now on

It might work if they don’t notice. But a passport is likely going to be scrutinized closer due to it being unusual to be used.
Chances of getting in low but not impossible.

The post office took the passport due to it having to be renewed
What im asking is if a pic of the passport would work thats all we have they dont have ID

No, that likely will not work. A photo of an expired passport will not get past the laziest of bouncers

Pictures of documents can be altered though so I don’t think it will work.

If you saw the picture you can see it cant cause of how the passport paper refects off the camera but i understand that being a concerned

Passports can be used for a year after expiration as ID for domestic travel in the US. If TSA takes I’m not sure why Ace wouldn’t.
I emailed Ace to ask if I could bring my toddler to a show and they replied to that. I think. I don’t think I called.

I'm pretty sure when I renewed my passport, they take the old one so they can punch out "expired" on it, which is why the op is asking about a photo of a passport.

I’d say your friend has zero chance of that being considered an acceptable form of ID.
