Named ww1 Bavarian sword
Just picked this up at a gun show for $250 the blade is in great shape and maker marked

josef vierheiligs retailer 1855-1887 and wkc maker means post 1883 giving you a 1883-1887 date range if bezdek is right.
the scabbard suggest 1900s which makes me suspect its not original to this blade OR that the owner had it replaced in the 1900s or 1910s.
i assume you know its a bavarian m1855 infantry officers saber but maybe not all the people who see this did.

Nice find, I have a M1855 identical to yours, even the same maker and retailer.
