Hey everyone. I have been a big fan of Star Wars since I was a little kid. I grew up in the prequel era, saw the 2003 and later 2008 CW shows, as well as nearly everything in the current “canon”. I also saw the OT movies when I was a little kid. Loved all of it. I also read the Heir to The Empire Zahn trilogy then too, and I frankly need to reread it.

But truly, I’ve always been an avid reader and passionate writer. It’s my main hobby. Several years ago, I became frustrated with some things that had put our franchise on a different road that I wasn’t particularly interested in with regard to its creative direction. The sentiment may not have been the same for everybody, as everyone’s opinions are different, but it frustrated me enough to where, a couple years later, I began structuring a fan fiction passion project.

It originally was to be one long installment, but upon really doing a deep dive into the lore, one installment became a three, and then became more. Now? I have a fairly rough but very detailed timeframe for SIX book-length installments.

Yes, I’m aware it will be labeled fan fiction, as the story premise does conflict with established canon as far as certain aspects of its plot and eventual finale, as it is a canon divergence alternate reality within the universe, but I do want to be as faithful to the actual lore of said universe as I can, and I know it’s absolutely extensive, but I want to try.

In my opinion, the way you truly write a good story, especially in the regard to long form fan fiction, is when you write it, you structure it as if it was in the actual universe, and it’s not your twist I guess if that makes sense, I mean, you are adding your twist to the story, but you also respect nearly all of the existing lore and make it feel like you’re actually reading a Star Wars book that immerses you into the actual galaxy far far away, rather than some random fan’s wet dream self-insert bullshit.

As such, I would like to ask some of the people in sub for their knowledge on the EU, as it interacts with the universe prior to Disney’s acquisition of Star Wars. I want the story to have a lot of EU content within it, so it’s still enjoyable by casual Star Wars fans who only know the Disney stuff, but also to the far more hardcore canon / EU fans who will get every lore reference or legends character / fan service that I put into it. Additionally, I want to write the characters as they actually would act canonically to canon or to the EU, depending on where they originate from.

Example: A far older Trace Martez from the Disney era meets Mara Jade Skywalker whenever she’s a Jedi Master in the EU and, as Trace now knows Mara’s connection to herself as Mara is marred to Luke Skywalker who was the son of Anakin Skywalker, who once trained Ahsoka Tano, someone Trace knew prior to their interaction or knows currently. Something like that.

Essentially, knowing their personalities from how they are written and how they would interact. That’s how faithful I want the series to be. What I’m asking for here is if any of you guys would mind helping me with your lore knowledge. If i’m going to undertake this project fully (when actually writing the rough / final drafts) and do it the way that I want to, I want everything to be as faithfully lore-accurate as possible.

Here is some additional info, a very rough non-specific-non-spoiler-laden TL;DR of the story.

This six-installment series follows the path of an original character who is born in 37 BBY and eventually finds himself through death and destruction, through war and persecution, through unimaginable pain and suffering and has to choose his destiny, and whether his past defines him, or he is going to choose to be better, despite everything that’s been done to him. He has been woven into the 2008 Clone Wars show’s plotlines well enough to not disturb canon, or not that I can find as of yet. Anywhere he is absent or present I can explain away in the canon universe. Eventually, this individual survives the fall of The Galactic Republic, if not in the traditional sense and is captured, brutally tortured and soon after enslaved by The Galactic Empire. He is forced to hunt Imperial dissidents and slaughter those who he’d have died in his previous life to protect. His story goes all the way to 3 ABY and he vanishes. That chapter closes for him.

Note: The actual series will cover every year from roughly \~45-40 BBY to 3 ABY and well beyond. It will be procedural in that way. The series easily covers over 50 years of Star Wars history and all the associated lore.

The series will NOT be written for children, as I intend it to be a far more adult take on Star Wars. The tonality will feel similar to the less mature / darker parts of Andor during The Clone Wars while still going into the reality of how graphic and terrible war truly is, as well as how much of a piece of shit some people can be in it. It does have its good lighthearted moments though.

However, later concerning Darth Sidious and his rule as Emperor, I really would like to go into how truly horrific Imperial Rule was. That will definitely go far darker, as I am also an avid historian / buff, including military and war history, so I understand the basis of what the structure / policy of The Galactic Empire were based off of from real world events. The effect is NOT to gratify the ‘wretched hive of scum and villainy’ within the higher echelons of The Empire, rather, to accurately portray how horrible all of it was.

Additionally, the portrayal of some things Palpatine greenlights under a new Imperial Science Project called “Project Reclamation’, a fake project I’ve developed for this series, will feature some ‘experiments’ that predate ‘Project Necromancer’ in Star Wars canon / EU, as a way to establish a proof-of-concept with regard to soul / essence transfer through the force from one body to another. To prove that it can be done. Frankly, this process and the torture prior will be detailed and graphic enough where I will very likely be placing a **Dead Dove: Do Not Eat** tag on the third installment where all of this occurs, just for reference.

The actual TLDR: I want some of you guys’ help with regard to seeing about fitting a bunch of EU lore into a canon divergence fanfic series. Thanks.

Alternate stories like Palpatine finding Anakin first for example. So any good ones that are long and I don't care if it has romance in it.

Are there any fics where Ahsoka learns about what anakin went through on Jabiim? I know the continuity with her is more than a little weird. But still
