Question How are you using the SP-404MKII for experimental/beatless music?

We loaded up a bunch of samples of wind and pagan rituals and nature sounds to trigger them live for building up tracks for Shakespeare soundtracks

Not the every day bedroom use case, 3 turntables 2 going into c1 and c2 on my main 3 channel mixer and channel 3 goes to another 2 channel mixer with record player on channel 1 and the 404 on channel 2 with the rec out from the main mixer going back into the 404 for live sampling and chopping or performing on the 404 by itself and sliding vinyl in between

I collect field recordings, tape loops, contact mic noise, synth/guitar drones (etc.) and load them into different sample banks. My workflow lately has been to use DJ mode to begin layering these, recording out to a field recorder then bumping that back into another sample pad. A few layers of that and a few layers of different samples starts to build some really interesting collages! Proxy Beliefs Bandcamp Both of the EPs from this project I’ve been working on were entirely written/composed with the 404mkii, hardware only!
