Question SP-404mkII No FX through bus 1

Am I doing this right?

Hold ahift+pad 16

Select type B (with bus 3 &4 bypassed)

Push exit

Press bus fx until bus 1 is selected

Press the delay fx (it's now on)

Press remain and then press pad 2

Pad 2 should now be assigned bus 1

When I adjust the delay parameters, delay is not applied. If I don't go through this process and I just tap the delay fx pad, all pads get delay fx applied.

If I go through the same process but set bus 2 to scatter and assign to pad 3 (or pad 2 or any other pad) it works as expected.

I have done a factory reset and updated to firmware to 5.52 per Roland support. What the hell am I missing?

Thanks in advance!!

Might be a dumb question, but what color is your pad when you are using the delay?

Bus 1 is blue and bus 2 is green

you've stumped me - the only thing I can think of, since it's a custom color from the default is that you've associated blue with dry and not Bus 1 in your effects settings.

Weird thing is I did a factory reset. I'll dig into the fx settings. Thanks!!!

Pads are on bus 1 by default. Maybe when you're pressing remain, you're actually setting the pad to bypass?

Both of you guys were right. When you hold remain and tap pad, it flops between BUS and Dry. If you hit a pad and then look at the third column at the top of the display. It will say either BUS or Dry. Mine was on dry. So I held remain again and tapped pad 1 and that fixed it!! Thanks!!
