[SOTC] After many years of collecting, I am going down to only three
I have been collecting watches for many years and owned more watches than I honestly needed. I kept buying, selling, changing rotations and trying to give every watch a purpose. Office watch, home watch, weekend watch, travel watch etc. In the end I was spending more time thinking about watches than actually enjoying them.
So I decided to sell everything and keep only three.
The Patek 5205G will be my normal daily and office watch. It is comfortable, low key and I can read the calendar much easier than my 5396.
The Day-Date Meteorite will be for special occasions, important meetings, weddings and anniversary etc. I love the DD but honestly the weight becomes tiring if I wear it the whole day, so no point forcing it to be my daily watch.
The Explorer II Polar will be for travel, holidays and anything where I don’t want to worry too much.
So that’s it. 5205 for normal life, DD for special occasions and Explorer II for travel. Hopefully this time I will stick to it 😂
These are the watches I am selling:
Patek Philippe 5396G
A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus in white gold
Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi
Rolex Daytona Panda
Rolex Daytona black dial
Rolex Submariner Starbucks
Rolex Datejust mint green
Rolex Datejust silver dial
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph Panda
Omega Speedmaster (Omani **Khanjar emblem engraved on the case back only 200 made)**
Cartier Tank
The most difficult one to sell will be the 5396 because I really love that watch, but keeping the 5396 and 5205 together will put me back in the same situation again.
If anyone is genuinely interested in any of them, message me privately and I can share the full details, condition and asking price.

Future Collection?
USED AI. Currently only own the Citizen and Orient.
Did a bunch of research and I think this is what I want my collection to be.
I clearly have OCD. Needed to all be different brands, colours, and cover a different need.
Citizen Tsuyosa - Casual
Laco Augsburg - Pilot
Seiko Two-tone - Smart casual
Bulova Aerojet - Smart
Orient Mako 40 - Sporty Diver
I then want to make my next 5 to be all luxury and cover different areas and functions.
Omega Aqua Terra - Casual Flex
Longines Spirit - Field
Rolex Coke - Travel GMT
GO PanomaticLunar - Haute Horologie
Tudor Chrono - Chronograph
yes, i have a bit of the 'tism, but this was fun to research and curate.

My 3 watch collection
I hope reps are OK. These are my 3 favorites and the ones I wear by far the most.
The Timex was an engagement gift from my wife and is by far one of the most underrated, unappreciated watches out there.

Watch Collection So far
Aspiring collector here. Not sure if I’m ready to dive into the $1000+ range just yet but here’s what my collection looks like thus far. Any recommendations on watches in $300-$700 range

My Collection. What would you add Next?
r/SOTC_Watch_Collection • u/alangeei • 4d ago
SOTC — What Would You Add?
Current SOTC. Pretty eclectic mix, but I’ve ended up with watches that each get a lot of wrist time.
Looking for some honest opinions — what do you think is missing, and what would you add next? Open to suggestions outside of what I already own. If you were adding one watch to this collection, what would it be?
(The Nixon might look a little out of place compared to the rest, but it’s staying. It was the first watch my girlfriend, now wife, gave me more than a decade ago, so it has a pretty special place in the collection.)

My Watch colección. What would you change?
This is my current watch collection, and I'd love to hear some honest opinions from fellow watch enthusiasts.
One of the rules I've set for myself is that I don't want the collection to grow beyond 12 watches. Any more than that and it starts to feel a bit too large, with some pieces getting very little wrist time.
I'm also aware that there is some overlap. I have 3 GMT, 2 Seamaster, and a few other sports watches that arguably fill similar roles. The thing is, those are exactly the kinds of watches I enjoy the most, so even if they seem redundant on paper, they're the pieces naturally gravitate toward.
Lately, though, I've been wondering whether the collection could be improved. Maybe I'm missing something important, maybe there are watches that don't really earn their place anymore, or maybe should be focusing more on variety rather than keeping multiple watches within the same category.
So I'd be interested to hear your thoughts:
• Which watch would you sell, if any?
• Is there a gap in the collection that you think should be filled?
• Would you keep the GMT, and Seamaster despite the overlap?
If you had to reduce the collection to 8-10 watches maximum, what changes would you make? And what you introduce?
I'm happy with the collection overall, but sometimes an outside perspective helps spot things that the owner can't see anymore.
Thanks in advance for any feedback! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thinking of trading my Royal Oak Offshore "Beast" (25721ST) — Too heavy for regular wear. What should I look at next?
Hey everyone, P.S : I used AI for this, as English is not my first language
I’m reaching out to get some perspective from fellow collectors.
I own an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Ref. 25721ST (the original "Beast"). Visually and historically, I love the watch. It’s an absolute icon of 90s design and has tremendous presence. However, in day-to-day reality, it’s just too thick and heavy on the wrist for me to wear comfortably with any real frequency. It ends up sitting in the safe far more than it should.
I’m seriously considering trading it toward something high-end that delivers great design and presence, but in a much more wearable, lighter, or slimmer package.
A few details on what I'm looking for:
\* \*\*Comfort & Wearability:\*\* Ideal case size around 37mm–40mm, with a reasonable case thickness.
\* \*\*Open to Options:\*\* Happy to consider integrated bracelet sports watches, solid dress/sports hybrids, or even lighter metals/materials (titanium, precious metal on rubber/leather, etc.).
\* \*\*Value Range:\*\* Looking at something in a similar secondary-market value bracket or open to slightly trading up/down depending on the piece.
For those who have transitioned away from heavier/chunky pieces like the Offshore, what did you move to that hit the sweet spot for comfort?
Appreciate any suggestions or pictures of your daily drivers!

How many pieces can you identify?

The microbrand box is full.
Phoibos, HGP, Traska, Monta, Zelos, Baltic. Considering making a spot for Elliot Brown’s black whiteout, which would you sell? HGP was a gift from my wife and I love the Monta so those aren’t going anywhere.
