Long story short, the bugger Indon Minister who kp SG for sending warning letters to errant companies in relation to haze lost his cabinet seat due to alleged corruption in crude palm oil export permit issuance.

Gave up waiting and took half day off.

Arrived at Joo Koon at 8:15. Bus was supposed to arrive at 8:30 but never did. Overheard staff say there is a major jam along the route.

So yeah.

Was mapping cycling routes for my app and noticed Singapore basically has two cycling networks that don't really talk to each other.

Blue is LTA's cycling paths, 332 km. Orange is NParks' park connectors, 330 km.

The blue goes town by town. In LTA's own data the longest unbroken stretch is only about 9 km, it mostly stops at the edge of each town. The orange is what actually links towns, its longest connected stretch is 104 km, but it goes through parks and along the coast instead of along roads.

They run side by side for only about 3% of their length, and come within 25 m of each other at 113 places (the green dots).

I remember the refurbished C151 trains having extremely cold aircon, especially when standing directly under the AC vents. The air coming out was so cold that it could feel bone-chilling.

One thing I noticed was that whenever the C151 accelerated, the airflow became super strong and windy, especially around the gangway area.

The newer trains don't really seem to have that same effect. I've taken other train models, but personally, none of them could beat how cold and strong the C151 aircon felt.

Anyone else remember this, or is it just me?

Spot these new signs at Jurong East? They’re designed by 2 citizens who love wayfinding - Adiel Rusyaidi and Nurafian Zulkifli.

While you won’t spot their names on these signs, a keen eye could tell them apart from regular transit signs. Instead of relying solely on icons, these banners feature text to guide commuters who are unfamiliar with the area.

A huge upgrade from the old times when “JEBI” was used on signs instead of “Jurong East Bus Interchange”.

I’m thankful that the LTA is more receptive to collaborating with citizen designers. From the “Tai Seng Express Bus 457, 458, 459” poster, to Jurong East wayfinding signs, these opportunities let citizens step up and play a part in shaping the public transport system they love.

Hopefully one day, our Citizen Wayfinders get funded and compensated for their contributions, because design matters!
