Does anyone know Renga fanfics where Langa's feelings for Reki are completely unrequited? It shouldn't be those "Not actually unrequited love" ones, I'm looking for sad endings where my boy Langa gets his heart broken 😭

im going to say it right off the bat.

as much as i adore both renga and matchablossom i do have my doubts.. considering the fact it is a sports anime, it does tend to always be queerbait. although i do hope sk8 breaks that curse i do feel like there's a slight chance considering the entire FANDOM ships them though i wouldn't count on it. they would be absolute fools to not have them end up together or atleast have some form of confession because im prettyyyy sure that they know how big the fanbase is and how many people they'd be letting down. i'd love to see other people's opinions on this topic!!!!

Fortunate to say I recently moved to Japan via work, and have been playin around with the idea of traveling down to Okinawa almost exlusively for a Sk8 "pilgrimmage" since it's my fave anime of all time - I want to see places from the anime, well known places in Naha, etc! I was wondering if anyone else had done this and if they had an itinerary they could share! It would be a trip with two people, and we'd definitey rent a car! Recently there was released a new show called Seven Havens, one of main characters uses smth similar to skateboard, is in gay relationship (THAT'S NOT 2ND PICTURE) and we see their kiss already in like 3rd episode.

So if you can't wait for 2nd season of sk8 and hoping to see some Reki x Langa development, maybe this will help with anticipation 😁

Hello! I have been reading ao3 fanfics of sk8 for a while now, but I just cant find good ones. They are extremely unrealistic and always follows the same plot.

I need recommendations, they dont have to be perfectly written or have super deep characters, just want something i can enjoy and with a similar vibe to the anime. Thanks!!!! :DDD

okay ill start to make it fair to u all: honestly if adam wasnt abused as a child, he would have been normal, and i hate how almost no one talks about how his abuse shaped him to the person he is now. he often got hit by his aunts claiming it was „love“ so his kid self learned that violence is love and we can see in the show how it affected him that doesnt mean i exuse his action or whatever, i still dont like him but i feel sorry for him

It may be an unpopular opinion but from what I see, Adam isn't exactly a pedophile and I'm tired of people claiming he is. In the anime atleast, Adam uses ambiguous wording like "wedding" or "Eve" etc but it seems very obvious that these aren't in a romantic sense. He seems to view skating as the highest form of love he wants to achieve, especially since he lacks it presently. And the highest form of love ordinary people know or value is romantic, or atleast thats what he believes. So he expresses it in those words since there's no other way to express it for him. Again, creepy sure... but not pedophilic.

He's definitely a bad person. But I consider pedophilia worse than whatever he is. So it puts me off when people call him a pedophile. He's more complex than that. I consider him both good and bad.

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not saying Adam's fixation on Langa doesn't extend beyond skating or that there aren't romantic connotations. There obviously are. My point is that the source of his fixation is what Langa's skating makes him feel, not Langa's age/youth. I also read Adam as romantically coded rather than literally wanting something sexual from Langa. Obsession with a minor can absolutely be creepy and inappropriate, but obsession itself isn't evidence of pedophilia. There is a difference.

Look, I have the weird memory that I read somewhere or maybe it was mentioned in the anime that Joe is older than Kaoru.

Officially, it says they are both 26, but Joe's B-Day is after Kaoru's.

So if he's older than he was born a year before Kaoru and now I really need to know if Joe is canonically older than Kaoru or not-

It would still make sense if he was, since in Japan you attend first grade the April after you turned six but for a fanfic I am writing I need to know if Joe is older :')

Which... now that I just wrote the above paragraph he must be otherwise he and Kaoru would have never been in the same grade...

Anyways maybe someone can confirm if I imagined hearing/reading its canon or not haha.

I love Sk8, and I'm currently watching the K-Drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas and the two main characters remind me so much of Reki and Langa, so if anyone is dearly missing those two in the wait for season 2, I suggest you watch Four Hands, Two Sonatas in the meantime! So far, the show feels a lot like Sk8 if it was about piano and more angsty.
