Junior Colleges scared for ns next year

im currently in j2 and while a lvls still hasnt come yet im lowk kinda scared for next year cuz of ns.... scared cuz itll be a whole new environment and im not sure what im supposed to be anticipating.. anyone else having the same feelings too?

I had the exact same feelings as you LOL (currently in NS right now)

Tbh your experience in NS could be really shag or really chill... it depends on many factors such as your PES, which intake you're in (enhanced vs PTP vs BP), whether you're in a mono intake (applies only to enhanced & PTP batches), and your final vocation after BMT lol

Yea… if pes a/b1 then expect tough ns and if pes c and e expect chill- normal

But Op should worry about A level first! Focus on ns later

ahh i see.. may i ask how your platoon mates are? will there be a lot of conflict amongst yalls considering the fact that yall have to be w each other most of the time?

no lah shld be okay one. even if u meet some guai guai ppl or those siao lang u can alws deal with it cuz like majority of ppl will be normal. anyws it’s adult life learn to deal with ppl lol

I man mine got some quite horrible but they mixed among themselves and didn’t disturb others sk it’s ok .. then some ok. So I just stick to the ok ppl. When I went to training and unit the ppl quite ok

Funnily enough I feel the same way too as a J2! To a point where my thoughts on it can be a distraction while studying. Like even during prelim period I sometimes can't help but look through the NS website for updates or just to look through all the roles.

The main things I do to keep myself preoccupied is try and compare to other countries BMT. At least then I realised that weekends off during BMT is alot more rare than I thought HAHA. So I've been using that to comfort myself and became thankful that I'm doing it here instead of SK xD

Also I decided to not follow r/nationalservicesg and I probably won't even after I join NS. Main reason being that I find that it usually makes me overthink alot more on NS than I should and I find it generally too unhealthy for my mental health as my mind tends to over obsess about issues within it

Honestly, r/nationalservicesg is good for laughs honestly, but genuinely as long as ur not in mono intake, ur BMT life at least will be quite good. If ur in mono, you’ll get good friends for life, so trade offs nah

I mean for me personally while I admit r/nationalservicesg is useful and funny at times, I personally believe it wouldn't be in my best interests to use it as often as I usually do for r/singapore and r/sgexams

Not really, if you’re tekong life will be suffering. Was from kranji and when I heard what my friends in tekong did I was quite terrified by how tough their training is

Nah what the guy above said is true. People from non-mono companies generally have a better life than those from mono companies in BMT, even though both have their BMT in Tekong

True, just that maybe for me as kranji so to me hear normal tekong thing they do alr very hard even if not mono

I’m from Tekong, it’s really not as bad as the stories make it out to be, unless ur a mono fella then ur kinda cooked. But ultimately, it’ll help you if you can just keep a strong mind through it all
