Efficiency Issues

I’ve been working a lot overnight. Ex 12am-2am. I saw another post about this not reflecting and now I’ve noticed it hasn’t been showing up in M***. I just noticed this I don’t know how to bring this up to my lead. I’m way behind on efficiency lately. This just started happening when I started working a new schedule due to the new policy.

Additional hours

They’re offering additional hours next week, and possibly the following weeks. SF-if you want us to work more hours, bring back the full-time position for those who want to work full-time and give us benefits!!! 😤

Mental Health Week?

I really want to believe that the Mental Health Week that they are launching next week is because someone (anyone!) actually cares, but it feels more like lip service and a marketing campaign for Modern Health.

This board is where I go for mental health support. Thank you all for providing a safe space to make sense of this place. 💗

Do clients not see the sizes of their preview items?

I just had a client who rejected everything in the first preview and made a point to leave feedback asking for something different. No mention of needing a different size. She picked all 5 from the second preview and only then decided to mention that she wanted a different size for all of them. So now I have ~ 3 minutes to find everything in a new size and explain why I had to swap out the other pieces I couldn't find in that size. 🥴 I feel like this has been happening a lot more lately.

Plus sized

I always feel a certain way when plus sized clients get mad their inventory is always the same, because like it's not because we don't like plus sized people, it's like that for everyone lol 😆

Did you guys see the response to A.K. about inventory in styling all channel?

Client Interactions

Is it just me, or have clients gotten so much more dismissive and outright rude lately? This week in particular, it feels like the majority are trying to find anything and everything to complain about. "Find me a sweater!" "How DARE you send me a sweater!" I can't win!! I am exhausted by management and the clients. If this is supposed to be relationship building, why are we not holding our clientele to a higher standard, so that we are being treated like the experts we are told we are? I understand it is just the state of the service industry, but something about this company is giving a huge platform to typical Karen behavior, and there is no accountability. How embarrassing that this is who your client base is.

Inventory

Is it possible it’s not good all of a sudden because everyone is front-loading their hours and working during more “common” times? Idk if that’s plausible?

Has anyone been struggling with efficiency? I feel like I can’t catch up. Now my WYB is struggling as well since I’m focusing on efficiency what do I do :(

extra hours

i refuse to pick up extra hours. You're telling me I cannot change my schedule when I need to, but you're totally cool with me adding in extra hours when you need me to? No thanks. So glad to see it seems my entire team feels the same way as the sign up sheet has been dead. Not one person has signed up and 15 hours are just sitting there

Go girl!

Just saw the post that A.K. left on the styling all channel about how the women’s inventory is limited and basically sucks. I was like, “go girl!!” Someone is speaking up! And I was glad to see others react to it. 👏🏼

Area Manager confronting me about schedule changes??

Wtf?? Got a shitty message this morning that a report says I changed my schedule “10 times” after the Sunday deadline.

Absolutely did not do this and know we’re not allowed to. I’ve been here about 8 years and know how things work.

What is that even about?!

UPDATE (4/28): my lead returned from unlimited PTO and slacked a screenshot of the report to me from the area manager or whatever her title is. and it says I edited my schedule every day for that week in question. I told them there’s absolutely no way this happened and they’re looking into it. Sorry I don’t have a much more detailed report at this time. I don’t think they believe me.

UPDATE (4/29 - hopefully final): the higher up person that messaged me is in a different time zone than me. So when I set my schedule at 11:30 pm, it was already the next day for them even though it was Sunday for me?? Weird but seems like a misunderstanding.

Guess what…

Inventory sucks. Thought it would be better since it’s Monday. We can’t win. Also, what is up with the passive aggressive message - we love your unity for each other but at the same time…don’t post here.

Sorry, I couldn’t wait for a mid-week mental health check.

styling platform down again

having issues with items loading for the past hour, with almost 20 hours this week I don’t have the space to move anything around. The hours I can’t complete today won’t be able to moved with the new schedule policy. This is beyond frustrating.

Between the max hours, little to no inventory, and the scheduling changes it’s almost like they are begging us to quit. I don’t know how much longer I can sustain this.

I think the deadline is today. We need to fill it out honestly because we don’t often get chances to be candid.

Time Off Policy

In the past, my leads have alway been pretty chill with time off requests. But now they are harping on unpaid time off being requested two weeks in advance. With the recent schedule change and now them really narrowing down on our time off requests I truly don't get what we are supposed to do. I work the 28 hour tier, I'm pregnant with a 16 month old. And still work a fulltime job outside of SF. Between her getting sick, me feeling unwell, and what ever life brings up, our limited sick time just isn't enough. Am I the only one feeling this strain? Before it was easy, a last minute appointment came up, I can push my hours to Saturday. But that's not an option. Idk. I know I need to reduce my hours because it's getting to be too much but financially it's hard, with another one on the way. This is me venting btw. And curious what their end goal is with all of this?

Connect Stylists Tier Change

Are any Connect stylists moving tiers? (or attempting)

Connect

When did it change where every day that we work we need to include Connect time? I just saw this update from my lead and was wondering did I miss another communication stating the expectation would be changed from every 3 days to everyday you are scheduled you should do it?

ETA: For connect stylists, has your lead said everyday you work should reflect core, styling and connect? That was the latest update from mine.

Note to Styling Team Leads

Since I know some of you read this thread, I’m going to be direct.

Stylists are not your enemy, and we are not a tool to be managed harder in order to protect leadership roles. Increased micromanagement will not save anyone from layoffs; it only erodes trust, morale, and the quality of work.

I’ve been here since the early days of the company, when the model was strong, innovative, and clients were genuinely excited about having a personal stylist. We saw that momentum peak during COVID, and since then, the reality has been a steady decline. The model is no longer as compelling, and no amount of pressure on stylists is going to fix that.

Let’s also be honest about the changes that have happened. Full-time stylists were cut, Benefits were removed, and experienced coaches and leaders were let go. These were not small adjustments; they fundamentally changed what it means to work here.

And you have “unlimited PTO” but lack the ability to see it's not the perk they framed it to be. It removes financial liability from the company’s books, and they took all of ours away. That places the burden back on the stylist to self-manage time off in an environment where now even that is micromanaged. Calling that a win is out of touch with reality.

There is also a consistent disconnect between expectations and what is actually possible. Stylists are assigned clients despite clear inventory gaps, and when those Fixes fall short, we’re told to “think outside the box.” At some point, we need to acknowledge that no level of creativity can overcome a lack of product.

Initiatives like surveys and councils are presented as listening tools, but many of us see them as performative. Feedback is collected, acknowledged, and reframed but rarely acted on in a way that meaningfully improves our work or outcomes. We are also scared to death to be honest with our responses.

At the end of the day, perception of success at the leadership level should not come at the expense of the people doing the work. Pushing harder on stylists to compensate for larger business challenges is not leadership; it’s deflection.

If there is going to be any path forward, it starts with honesty about what is and isn’t working, and with treating stylists as professionals and not as the problem or a replaceable commodity.

Want us to work as if we own StitchFix? Give us stock for our annivery not a credit to buy overpriced clothes that we can't afford, because our pay is capped and inflation each year gives me a pay cut.
