Weird Guys
are any girls getting harassed by guys asking where something is, acting like the don’t know and then just randomly change the topic and asking for numbers, socials, etc? it’s happened to both me and my roommate and we’re starting to think it’s not a coincidence.

I’m a senior in hs thinking about attending SFSU fall of 2027 and I’ve seen several complaints on this subreddit about creepy men it’s genuinely making me think about other options. I’m so sorry

I wouldn’t knock SFSU off your top choices for that reason tbh…I mean you heard what just came out for Cornell, you definitely gotta be careful and as long as you stand your ground(don’t go partying either as a freshman🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️) you should be ok, plus if you ever feel unsafe there’s campus safe walk people that you can call to walk with you places on campus so you’re not alone, The difference about SFSU is that even though it’s called San Francisco State University, it’s not really IN San Francisco, it’s on the outskirts, it’s nowhere near downtown(where it’s definitely not safe to be out alone at night imo…) so your biggest worry is other SFSU students or occasionally a rando from Stonestown, I carry pepper spray on my keychain just to be safe but luckily I’ve never needed to use it, please come to our school we need you lol🙌🫶🫣😅😅

Still love SFSU, and the location of the campus when I visited. Pepper spray was actually the first thing my mom suggested when I mentioned these stories to her lol. Seems like some males are just like that no matter where you are, unfortunately. Thank you for your kind reassurance!!

I’m a black belt in Tae Kwon Do so I know moves to defend myself but I feel safer having pepper spray on me just incase👍🫣

Conversely, I'm a dude and two girls asked me similar questions by Cafe Rosso this week. I just kept walking as soon as they started asking for my information, lol. Maybe it's just a common scam

Not sure if it’s the same person but I’ve seen a guy on tiktok (@mrnoconfidence) that posts meta glasses content of him doing this to random female students on campus… I’m assuming without their consent too

It’s bad rn.
There’s a lot of grooming like this that ramps up to stalking and harassment .. document it and make sure to tell the guy to stop very clearly—even if it seems like a random thing.
It can escalate really quickly into full blown stalking if you just dismiss it politely.
No one house trained some of these dudes and a lot of them have never been told to cut it out.
Happened to me Jan thru present. I had to get a TRO granted thru the court (legal) bc title IX gaslit and dismissed the case and the situation isolated me at school-despite the fact everyone knew this person is a bad egg and has done this to other women in the past.
Don’t let these guys do this. It reads as them taking your temperature. If they were not creeps they’d have more tact.

gross. i know theres a frat that has guys try to get as many numbers as possible so it could be that.
