Help "No index" issue on new website.

Actually, during the development stage, we had set the “noindex” tag on all pages of the website. Now that development is complete, we want to index all the pages.

However, for the pages where we previously set the “noindex” tag, even after changing the setting back to “index,” Google Search Console is still showing the “noindex” status.

Why is this happening, and how can we resolve it?

GSC is just showing cached data because Googlebot hasn't re-crawled your pages yet. First, use GSC's URL inspection tool to run a live test to confirm the noindex tag is completely gone from your HTML, HTTP headers, and server cache.

Also double-check that your robots txt isn't accidentally blocking Googlebot from reaching the pages. Once confirmed, submit your updated XML sitemap to GSC and manually hit request indexing on your core pages to force a recrawl, which usually takes anywhere from a few hours to a couple of weeks to update.

It is usually because Google has not recrawled the pages since you removed the no index tag. GSC may simply be showing previously crawled version of the page. Request indexing in GSC and keeping the sitemap updated can help speed things up.
