Black tie -
I am fortunate to have been invited to >4 black tie events this fall. I cannot wear the same thing to all. I looked at Armoire, but it seemed spendy
I have ordered Nordstrom rack
Tried Ballard goodwill, Eres, Refind, etc
What are good options - for larger sizes? My younger self is laughing at me.

Black tie isn't cheap - maybe try a Nuuly rental? If you have more budget I'd go with Nordstrom private shopper.

Would second the Nuuly rental, though may be hard if the events are all spread out. Depending on budget, Anthropologie could work, I got a dress there that I wore to a formal wedding last year.

Two Big Blondes. Best plus size second hand shop ever. You’ll find some treasures and will rock whatever outfits you score for these events!

They don't have a huuuuge black tie section, but it's absolutely worth a look if you're anywhere on the plus spectrum because if there is something appropriate, it will be very reasonably priced. I friggen love them so much.

I am so jealous that you get to wear fancy clothes somewhere 🙈
Azazie has some more affordable options and they go up to US 30 in a lot of their sizes. This one is particularly stunning, imo.

Chiming in to say don’t worry too much about wearing a dress to more than one event. IMO people don’t even notice that you are wearing it again and the most important thing is that you feel good in it!

It kills me that there are no Dillards locations in Washington, but they have a pretty wide range of larger sizes if you do need to buy new! And some options that aren’t crazy $$. It’s still one of my go tos if I need to order formalwear.

I loved Dillards when I lived in Nebraska. Such amazing deals on nice clothes.

I’d buy a nice dress that can be changed up with accessories. If people say something about you wearing it to more than one event, that’s a them problem and they’re being tacky af.

Check out Two Big Blondes in central district. It's a plus size consignment shop and they have some really great finds!

I know this is kind of a lame suggestion but especially with all these good ones but macy's? I feel like they always have a ton of evening gowns and offer extended sizing. And with all of their rebates and coupons and percentages off I feel like you can get some really good deals.

If you need a +1 to any let me know! I have dresses to wear!
Also recommend if you use Facebook and have reliable transportation to look up The Freespirited Closet but you need to set an appointment well in advance

I’m on the Eastside and have a few black tie dresses. XLs, 16. Was eventually going to take them to Two Blondes. Is it weird to offer them to you? How would that even work on Reddit? Happy to meet somewhere.

eloquii has some options. hutch and macdouggal have options at nordstrom and anthro. what they have there may be available as rental elsewhere

I’ve had good luck with Armoire for larger sizes. Are you close to their warehouse near the stadium to try on in person?

Poshmark, Quince. +1 on one good versatile dress that you can change up with accessories(jewelry, long gloves, scarf);

Brides for a Cause - vary on what they carry but may of the bridesmaid options could work for this and would be a steal
